London:
A new survey has revealed that going in for homemade
sandwiches instead of the those quick fix sandwiches that
you munch on during your busy work hours, could actually
save more than 6 b dollars a year. The survey, conducted
by Prudential, questioned 2,000 people and found that on
an average more than two out of three people eat out during
working days and spend more than 5 pounds each. According
to the researchers this amounts to a national spending of
112 million pounds every day or 6.8 billion pounds a year.
The researchers say that considering the fact that making
a sandwich at home costs only one sixth of the sandwiches
purchased from outside, workers could save about 23,000
pounds each in 25 years. "We aren't suggesting that making
sandwiches is the answer to the pensions gap. However the
research does illustrate there are many simple steps we
can take to improve our personal finances,' This is London
