Madonna doesn't understand her children's language (Go To Top)

Washington: Pop singer Madonna is finding it impossible to comprehend what her two young children say. Eight-year-old, Lourdes and Rocco, 4, are learning French from a London school and talk to each other in French all day; but Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie have no knowledge of the language. "Rocco is certainly picking up a lot of French. He speaks it all the time at home because Lourdes is fluent. They talk to each other in French all day, chatting away to each other non-stop," Contactmusic.com quoted the children's grandfather John Ritchie as saying. "It's very funny. Neither Guy nor Madonna speak the language so they cannot understand anything the children are saying. They haven't a clue. It's almost like the kids have their own secret language," he said.

Alcohol diminishes milk supply in mothers (Go To Top)

     Washington: Contrary to the earlier assumption that alcohol increases milk production in mothers, a new study has found that alcohol consumption causes hormonal disruption, decreased lactation performance and diminished milk supply. The findings were published today in the April issue of The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, one of the four journals of The Endocrine Society. For centuries, physicians and mid-wives around the world have claimed that alcohol is a galactogenic (milk producing) substance and have recommended consumption to mothers in order to enhance the quality and quantity of milk to infants. The present study, led by Julie Mennella, Ph.D., at the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, examined levels of the hormones oxytocin, prolactin and cortisol, as well as the lactational performance of 17 nonsmoking, healthy breastfeeding women. The results showed a significant decrease in oxytocin level, which correlates with the decline of milk ejection and production, dismissing the lore that alcohol is a galactagogue. Furthermore, the increased prolactin levels are directly associated with the lactating mothers' perception of breast fullness explaining why the folklore may have persisted for centuries. "Since breast milk is a critical form of nutrients to infants," explains Dr. Mennella, "it is important that women remain as healthy as possible during the breast-feeding stage. This means dismissing the age-old myth that alcohol assists in milk supply."

     London: A survey for The Vitality Show has revealed the beauty goof-ups that leave women red with embarrassment. According to The Sun, the poll which questioned more than 3,000 ladies found that found sunbeds, home perms, moustache waxing and too much lip-gloss were among the disasters. They also included Hair Bleaching that left the skin blotchy and irritated after using the wrong cream, fake tans that turn one orange and too much make-up that when applied unprofessionally can leave someone looking like a panda. "Beauty disasters are something every woman has to go through, whether it's home perms, squeezing sports or too much make up, it's all part of the learning experience. However, there were definitely some very interesting findings and I am sure reading the list will bring some very shameful memories back to a lot of ladies out there!," The Vitality Show director Emma Helbert was quoted as saying. Denzel Washington reunites with Spike Lee for 'Inside Man' (Go To Top)

     Washington: Denzel Washington has signed up to star in Universal Pictures 'Inside Man', based on a screenplay by Russell Gewirtz and Menno Meyjes. According to Zap2It quoting The Hollywood Reporter, the project to be directed by Spike Lee, centers on a cop who is trying to confuse a bank robber in a hostage situation. Lee has worked with Washington previously on 'Mo' Better Blues', 'Malcolm X' and 'He Got Game'.

Kournikova's stalker is really nuts (Go To Top)

     Washington: Tennis beauty Anna Kournikova's alleged stalker has been ruled mentally unsound to stand trial by a judge who had him removed from a court hearing after he repeatedly shuffled papers and made loud, incoherent statements. William Lepeska, the man who was arrested in January for swimming nude across Biscayne Bay in an effort to reach Kournikova's home near Miami, will spend the next six months at a restrictive mental facility under the order of Circuit Judge Diane Ward, reports Eonline. "His illness is very legitimate," Ward said. Two psychiatrists and a psychologist who examined Lepeska in jail testified that he behaved similarly to how he acted in court Wednesday and that he was taking no medication for mental illness.

Ashton Kutcher is Kabbalah drinks' chosen one (Go To Top)

     Washington: Demi Moore's boyfriend Ashton Kutcher has reportedly been approached by a new Kabbalah drink company to be their brand ambassador. The Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles recently sent followers Kutcher, Demi Moore and Madonna 200 cans each of the drink to try out. "We're interested in all three (stars promoting the drink), but we've done the most talking with Ashton. He's most preferred," Darin Ezra, director of the Centre's drink division was quoted by Contactmusic as saying.

Britney banned from looking after stepson (Go To Top)

     Washington: Pop princess Britney Spears has been prohibited from looking after her eight months old stepson as she is not experienced enough to look after the baby. While Britney's hubby Kevin Federline's ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson has no objections to the couple looking after her two year old daughter she refuses to leave the baby alone with them until he is much older, reports contacmusic.com. "As a mom, I won't put my baby in the hands of somebody who can't handle it. Britney has no experience with babies, and Kevin's a great dad, but his only experience is with Kori, and he had my help the whole time," Shar was quoted by Star magazine as saying.

     London: Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore, who is currently dating drummer Fabrizio Moretti, is keen to start a family, but not in the near future as she wants to be fully committed to her children. "As much as I've experimented with many things in life, starting a family wasn't something I wanted to experiment with," Zap2It quoted Barrymore as saying to USA Today. "I didn't want to see if I was ready. I want to be ready. I want to be the smartest, most selfless version of myself before I have children. It will be a few more years, but never say never," she said.

     Washington: Kevin Federline's ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson has claimed that even though the dancer has married pop singer Britney Spears, they still love each other. Jackson, who was six months pregnant with Federline's second child when she heard about his romance with Britney, said that he still has strong feelings for her. "I love Kevin. I'm always going to love Kevin. He's the father of my two kids. I know he cares about me. But he's a married man, and we respect that," Contactmusic quoted her as saying to America's Star magazine.
