The Half Blood Prince shall remain Rowling's favourite

     London: JK Rowling says that her latest Harry Potter novel is one of the best she has written till now. Rowling, who is busy giving finishing touches to her sixth book "The Half Blood Prince" says, she thinks it is going to be her favourite out of all her books. "I like it better than I liked Goblet, Phoenix or Chamber when I finished them.Even if nobody else likes it - and some won't - I know it will remain one of my favourites in the series. Ultimately you have to please yourself before you please anyone else", The Sun quoted her as saying. The writer also added that she plans to take a break before writing the seventh and last novel in the series. "I dare say my fingers will itch for a pen before long, they usually do but I doubt I'll be doing any sustained writing for many months yet", she added.

Tim Burton trains squirrels to crack nuts (Go To Top)

     London: Filmmaker Tim Burton has reportedly spent six months and millions of pounds training 200 squirrels to crack nuts for a scene in his new movie 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. The 'Batman' director was so determined to recreate the 'nut room' scene from Roald Dahl's classic children's book that he spent another ten weeks filming the short scene at London's Pinewood Studios. "We used actual rodents. From birth, we sent them to training school for six months," the Sun quoted Burton, who also created a chocolate river and an 80ft chocolate waterfall for the film starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, as saying.

     Washington: Jane Fonda has said that she hit her ex-husband Ted Turner with a car phone, after she discovered he was cheating on her just a month after their marriage. According to Contactmusic.com, the 67-year-old Barbarella star has recorded all about her life in her new autobiography "MY LIFE SO FAR", and says that she was furiously out of her mind when she found out that media king Ted Turner had cheated on her. A page from her autobiography reads, "I remember sitting there, my heart pounding, my mind imploding... Ted was ashen when he got into the car, behind the wheel.That's when I began hitting him about the head and shoulders with the car phone... 'I sure hope it was great... because you just blew it with me.I left him and then I forgave him and we got back together and he never betrayed me again until the end when he knew the marriage was falling apart and he needed to find my replacement." Fonda has also discussed the infidelities in her marriages to Roger Vadim and Tom Hayden, as well as her bulimia and addiction to dextrine.

     Washington: Arnold Schwarzenegger often burns his children's dirty clothes if he finds them not doing their own laundry. The Terminator star is reportedly very finicky about cleanliness in the house, and wants all of his four children to be very disciplined when it comes to cleaning up their own dirt. He's strict about laundry. I go, 'Arnold, you're running a state - don't worry about the laundry!' And he will call me, from the Capitol (asking), 'Have they done the laundry? If I come home and they haven't done the laundry, I'm telling you, there are no play dates!' He goes around our house, taking the kids' clothes that they leave. He throws it in the fire, or he hides it and they don't ever get it back... And he is serious about it. I am scared to death too!", Contactmusic.com quoted his wife Maria Shriver as saying. Housekeeping is not the only fetish with Schwarzenegger. He also gets furious if he finds his children harming the environment. "If you don't turn out the lights, he takes the lights out of the ceiling! I keep trying to tell him he has other things on his plate, but he goes, 'We have an energy crisis, the children have no respect for the energy!'", Maria Shriver added. Meanwhile, Shriver had to take laundry lessons from her children, because she did not know a word about housekeeping when she was a child.

     London: 'Spiderman' star Kirsten Dunst and 'The Day After Tomorrow' star Jake Gyllenhaal are reportedly planning to tie the knot. According to Fox News quoting ITV.com, sources say that the two will marry in New Jersey where Kirsten grew up. The couple, who began dating two years ago, has admitted that they faked their break-up last year in order to fend off publicity.

Fish prevents heart attack, cancer despite contaminants (Go To Top)

     Washington: Eating fish regularly can reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, mental decline in old age, and prostate cancer. Omega-3 fatty acids found in oily, dark-fleshed fish offer genuine health benefits, says the Harvard Men's Health Watch. Fish oil is one important source of omega-3s, but the Harvard Men's Health Watch points out that eating fish provides other important nutrients like selenium, antioxidants, and protein. Moreover, people who eat fish and take less of meat and cheese, may add other healthy food such as vegetables and brown rice to their diet. However,live fishes may absorb contaminants found in the waters. Methyl mercury and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) absorbed by fishes may cause harm. The research explains that while pregnant women and children should limit their intake of high-mercury species like swordfish, king mackerel, and tilefish, among others.Farmed fish such as salmon have little mercury, but they may have PCBs. The Harvard Men's Health Watch recommends peeling the skin and fat before cooking to minimize harm. Limiting consumption of farmed and wild salmon is also suggested in the study. Meanwhile, American Heart Association's recommendation to eat two servings of fatty fish per week is a healthy move for most middle-aged and older men.

Elton John joins Eminem fan club (Go To Top)

     London: Sir Elton John has confessed that he is a great admirer of Eminem and thinks that the rapper is at par with music legends like Jimi Hendrix and Mick Jagger. In a special Immortals edition of Rolling Stone magazine, Elton John said he got goose bumps when he first performed with Eminem at The Grammys in 2001 . The singer slammed the music stars who call Eminem a homophobe. "From the start, I've always admired Eminem's thinking.That's the reason I wanted to appear on the Grammys with him when I was asked, despite all the nonsense talked about his being homophobic. Let the Boy Georges and the George Michaels of the world get up in a twist about it if they don't have the intelligence to see his intelligence", The Sun quoted him as saying. Eminem features in the magazine's second Immortals edition, listing 50 of the greatest rock 'n' roll stars of all time.
