Sir John Mills passes away

     London: Sir John Mills, the Oscar winning British actor passed away on Saturday. He was 97. Informing about his death, a trustee of his estate said, "He`d been ill for about a month with a chest infection, he remained remarkably lucid until the end." Born in February 1908 in Felixstowe, Mills, worked in a number of patriotic movies during 1940s and 1950s. Somew of his notable performances were in The October Man, Scott of the Antarctic, Dunkirk and Ice Cold in Alex. He was awarded with the Oscars for his commendable supporting role in the 1971 flick-- Ryan`s Daughter. He is survived by his second wife Mary Hayley Bell, one son and two daughters, including the actress Hayley Mills.

Uma Thurman's childhood was not hippie-dippy (Go To Top)

     London: Uma Thurman has downplayed assumptions that her childhood was hippy-dippy simply because her parents are practicing Buddhism. "There's been a lot written about my upbringing, making it sound as if it were some hippie-dippy childhood, but that's totally absurd. There's an assumption that because someone is a Buddhist, they are a leftie loose cannon, unusually weird, and that's complete baloney!" femalefirst quoted Uma as saying. The 'Kill Bill' actress said that her childhood was perfectly normal, as her parents raised her in an academic environment. "I was brought up in academic housing, I went to school, my father was a professor. It was all extremely normal," she was quoted as saying.

     London: Singer Mariah Carey has revealed that she has a fetish for wearing sexy underwear and has a whole wardrobe devoted to the lacy garments. The diva revealed that her closet is full of raunchy bras arranged in different sections corresponding to colour. "I like lingerie that's lacy and normally white. But then I also love dressing up in pink lingerie - and black is hot too" the singer was quoted by FMH magazine as saying. "I have everything laid out in colours so I can pick them out quickly. It's right off my bathroom so rather than going down to my main closet soaking wet, all dripping and nude, I decided to make a nice lingerie closet. That way I can jump out of my tub, run naked into the next room and put on a nice little number," she added.

Madonna, whose fashion range is inspired by her English Rose books, says, "The English Rose Collection has been doing well at retail and I am thrilled about the look of the line which I have just finished designing. It is another reminder to always look for new ways to never stop reinventing yourself."      London: Hotel heiress and socialite Paris Hilton is reportedly keen to have a baby with her latest boyfriend, Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis. "Paris [Hilton] is crazy about him and says she's sure he's the one," a source close to Paris was quoted by the Star as saying. "She says she wants his baby and that he's so good-looking that she just knows they'd have beautiful kids," he added. However rumours are also abuzz that Hilton may have rekindled her romance with one time boyfriend Nick Carter, as she often flies to Florida to visit him. "The thing with Paris is that she's constantly changing her mind. This week she's totally in love with Paris [Latsis] and wants his baby, but next week, who knows!?" the source added.
