Women dump metrosexual men for macho ones (Go To Top)

New York: Women prefer men who conform to the earlier macho men stereotypes rather than the metro sexual male who spends hours in saloons preening himself, according to a new survey. The Harris Interactive survey, commissioned for Dodge Trucks, revealed that ladies prefer tough men like Russell Crowe and Vin Diesel to David Beckham, Johnny Depp and Jude Law. "We don't want a man to say, 'I just got a manicure, so I can't do the lawn today,'" Sheila Ellison, editor of the 2004 anthology "If Women Ruled the World," said. Sixty-one percent said they'd rather have a man with work- roughened hands, compared with the 39 percent who like a guy with polished manicured nails. "We have a lot of women looking for a real 'guy guy,' not someone that looks prettier than them, that has better clothes than them," said Robin Webber, a marketing coordinator for 8-Minute Dating, a dating service. "They want to have the nice stuff and have the guy say, 'You look pretty,'" she added.
