Amazing! This Patna he goat gives milk

Patna: In an incident that cannot be believed until one sees it, a male goat in a remote village Patna has started yielding milk. The 6-year-old he-goat, which was initially brought to the village for sacrifice, gives around 1.5 kilograms of milk everyday and is also capable of reproduction. The Goat is now being considered as a divine intervention by the villagers. "It's a strange goat. It gives milk and is also capable of reproduction. It has been sent to us by the god. It came from the jungle one day. The villagers are bathing him, feeding him and taking care of him," Shivraj Sharma, a villager, said. The he-goat gives milk which villagers consider to be more nutritious than cow's milk. "This he-goat is a wonder. We have never heard of such an animal. Its milk is of a very high quality, even better than a cow's," said Valmiki Sharma. Goat milk is considered a nourishing drink with healing properties by many cultures. Goat milk is a good source of protein and healthy fats, and contains important minerals such as calcium, magnesium, as well as numerous vitamins. It contains greater amount of vitamin A than cow's milk. The phenomenon of the milking he-goat has not been scientifically examined but miracles are not uncommon in India. Some years ago, in several parts of the country people flocked temples with cups, bowls and sachets of milk as offerings to the Ganesha, believing that he was drinking milk.

Agra cracker factory explosion claims three lives  (Go To Top)

Agra: Three people were killed and several others were injured, when a factory housing firecrackers in Agra exploded on Saturday. Police said the factory was being run illegally and the orders for an impending marriage party were being completed when the incident happened due to short circuit. "They were making dangerous firecrackers, and suddenly it exploded. We were just near the site and heard a loud explosion. This has become a common thing. Last year also two people died but nothing is being done about it," said Ranjeet, an eyewitness. Residents said they did not receive help from the administration in time. "Nobody was around at that time, only the workers were at the site. We rushed towards the site and also dragged out two bodies. It was much later that fire brigade came and they tried to douse the fire," said Ramdev. Police said they brought all the injured to a local hospital and have filed a case against the owner for running the illegal factory. "During the making of these firecrackers there was a blast in which two died on the spot and one was brought to the hospital but he died later. Two more are injured and undergoing treatment. We have lodged a case against the owner and complete investigation would be done," said Vinay Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Agra. Reports says more than 1,500 illegal factories indulging in firecrackers and liquor are operating in Uttar Pradesh. Police says it is unable to stop them due to inadequate information. These factories sprawl up in congested localities, without fire norms and have killed several people across the country in the past. Recently a similar blast in a fireworks factory killed at least ten people and injured eight in Tamil Nadu.

India welcomes lifting of emergency in Nepal (Go To Top)

New Delhi: India on Saturday welcomed Nepal King Gyanendra's decision to lift a nearly three-month-longn emergency imposed across the Himalayan kingdom. In a formal statement issued a short while ago, the Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman said:"We welcome the lifting of the emergency in nepal as a first step towards the beginning of a political process in that country." "We call for the release of all political leaders still in custody and the restoration of civil liberties which would open the way for reconciliation between the two constitutional forces," the MEA spokesman further added in his statement. He also said that India has consistently maintained that "multi- party democracy represented by political parties and the constitutional monarchy should work together to address the serious challenges facing Nepal today" The Indian government's statement came hours after King Gyanendra announced through a Royal proclamation that he was lifting the emergency that he had imposed on February 1 after dismissing the government of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. According to a notice released by the Royal Palace, the state of emergency was lifted as per Article 115 (11) of the Constitution according to which a state of emergency needs to be approved by the House of Representatives within three months for further extension. The King's imposition of emergency had invited international criticism and many international donors cut assistance, including military aid to Nepal. The King also issued an order as per Article 127 of the Constitution to give continuation to the powerful Royal Commission for Corruption Control, which was formed in mid- February. The King's order was issued to legalize the RCCC at a time when its constitutionality has been questioned.

The announcement came as King Gyanendra returned home from an official visit to China, Indonesia and Singapore. During the visit the King attended the Asian-African Summit in Jakarta and Boao Conference in Peoples Republic of China. Upon his arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport the King said that during talks with Heads of States and Heads of Governments, he explained to them that "Nepal had given priority to the fight against terrorism and the Nepalese people's aspiration for restoring peace", according to Radio Nepal. The King added that he was influenced by his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the Asian-African Summit. "I have taken the views expressed by Singh seriously", the King told reporters at the airport. The King added that he discussed economic issues with the Chinese President and economic cooperation between Nepal and Tibet. King Gyanendra had imposed the emergency after dismissing the government of former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and suspended fundamental rights and press freedom in the Himalayan kingdom. While the lifting of emergency was expected, many are seeing it as the impact of international pressure. However, the Nepalese political parties are skeptical about the move, and are waiting for signs that this will mean the beginning of a political process. Meanwhile, the parties have not yet cancelled the planned May Day demonstrations against the King.
