Dougray Scott, bookies' new favourite to play James Bond (Go To Top)

London: He might be a lesser known actor but Dougray Scott is the bookies favourite when it comes to being the next James Bond. According to Daily Mail, Bookmaker William Hill has stopped taking bets on the prospective James Bond after a succession of heavy wagers on Scott. The closing list included Dougray Scott at 6-9, Clive Owen at 5-2 and Hugh Jackman and Ewan Mcgregor at 4-1. Hill believes the gamble on Dougray Scott could be due to insider information. "A lady wanted to bet #870 on Dougray Scott at 8-1! She told us she had some inside information, perhaps she knew he had been to a casting - but she wouldn't say," Spokesman Rupert Admas was quoted as saying. Being Scottish like legendary Bond actor Sean Connery could have also increased his popularity. "Both Dougray Scott and Ewan McGregor were early favourites due to being Scots - but that's just nostalgia," Adams added.

"If there are people in your life that make your stomach go into knots or make you feel like you could throw up from nerves or you see people you care about cry, and there's tension and unrest, you can't have that," Sydney Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying. "At some point you have to decide you're just not going to have that around. So I will never have to worry about my son having a bad relationship with him (father Jon Voight). I won't have to worry about me being frustrated or upset or emotional or imbalanced for my kid. We just don't understand each other as people. I have no animosity. I don't hate him, I have no anger. I just can't have that in my life. So I don't think there'll be a time when I want it," she added.

Madonna's Kabbalah is pseudo: Rabbi  (Go To Top)

New York: She might have grabbed headlines for her faith in Kabbalah but if a Jewish history scholar is to be believed, it has little resemblance to the ancient Jewish mysticism whose name it bears. According to New York Post, Jewish scholar Allan Nadler told Vanity Fair that what is taught at the Kabbalah Centre is actually a subversion of the faith. The original study, he added, "was the equivalent of a truly elite monastary somewhere in the middle of nowhere - they didn't hold press conferences, and they certainly didn't put on cone-like bras and prance around". Madonna is said to pray behind her own screen and she sits at the head table at Shabbat meals. "Madonna's table had glass, real plates, knives and forks. Everyone else ate off plastic. We were eating this c- -p off, like, paper plates and didn't know what was what. They had different, nice wine," an insider was quoted as saying.
