'Spider-Man 3' to be more realistic, says Sam Raimi (Go To Top)

     Washington: Spider-Man 3 needs to be more close to reality, says director Sam Raimi, who is not happy with the computer generated graphics used in the other two movies of the Spider-Man series. "We're really trying to shoot for a level of reality that we haven't yet achieved yet with the 'Spider-Man' films. It'll be subtle, and the audience probably won't even be aware of them, but to that character specifically, we're looking at how can we improve his style," Zap2It quoted Raimi as saying. Raimi is planning to begin some test shooting for 'Spider-Man 3' in March, where he will experiment with costumes, characters, movement and new technology combined with existing technologies put together in new ways. "Our stunt people are also going to be working also shooting tests, mechanical FX tests," he said.

'The Passion of the Christ' nominated for Epiphany Prize (Go To Top)

     Washington: Mel Gibson's 'The Passion of the Christ' has been nominated for John Templeton Foundation's Epiphany Prize. The Epiphany Prize is bestowed upon video productions that help increase man's understanding and love of God, and to encourage producers to create more of these types of programmes the prize money has been raised from 25,000 dollars to 50,000 dollars. According to Zap2It the People's Choice award winner 'The Passion...' is one of the strongest contenders for the Epiphany Prize, which was won by 'The Gospel of John' last year. Other movies nominated for the award include - firefighting drama 'Ladder 49', murder-mystery "The Reckoning" and documentaries 'America's Heart and Soul' and 'I Am David'. Winners are due to be announced on February 24 at the Beverly Hilton in Hollywood.

Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz to tie the knot? (Go To Top)

     Washington: They might be seeing each other for along time now, and it seems Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz are ready to get married, if rumours are to be believed. According to Star magazine the duo met last year on the Moroccan set of Sahara, an upcoming action-adventure movie in which they play scientists trying to save the world from an African dictator. According to a source close to Penelope, her father told the couple if they decided to get married, they would have his blessing. He added that Penelope is telling friends that she hopes to be married in Madrid by July.

     London: Kiera Knightley so very much hates the rumours written in the press about her, that she has stopped reading newspapers and magazines to avoid confronting them. "I don't read any magazines or newspapers any more, because I find it really scary and I get really scared when I'm followed by photographers. I have, on many occasions, broken down in tears because I find it terrifying. I dropped out of school when I was 16 so there's nothing else that I can do," Femalefirst quoted her as saying.

     London: Cate Blanchett who received a best actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal in Elizabeth, is all set to reprise the role again for an upcoming movie. According to Daily Mail, the film titled The Golden Age will be directed by Shekhar Kapur who also directed her in Elizabeth. The Golden Age centers on what kind of monarch the young queen became; how she sent her confidants on global explorations, conquered the Spanish Armada and lived life with 'the heart of a man'.

'Pretty Woman' is pretty content with motherhood (Go To Top)

     London: Hollywood star Julia Roberts has revealed that she has never been more content in her life since she married cameraman Danny Moder and gave birth to their twins. The 'Pretty Woman' was on cloud nine when she gave birth to twins Phinneaus and Hazel last November, and it has now made her realise the value of marital bliss and motherhood. "Danny really shines the light for me. He just makes me feel so comfortable," femalefirst quoted Julia as saying. "I've been lucky because I have known happy times in my life, but right now it's not just that I'm happy, I'm perfectly content, too," she added. However, the pretty actress, who vowed to devote the next five years baby sitting her daughters, has now agreed to provide the voice in forthcoming animation 'Charlotte's Web' and is also in talks to star in the romantic comedy 'The Seven Year Switch'.

     London: Keira Knightley has revealed that she enjoyed working in forthcoming thriller 'The Jacket' because it gave her the chance to look ugly on screen. The 'King Arthur' star said that she is fed up of trying to look beautiful and perfect in Hollywood movies, and welcomed a role where she did not have to make an effort to look glamorous and sexy. "When you do the Hollywood vibe on a big film you are shot from the perfect angle and you do tests to make sure, so they won't shoot you from this or that angle," the Daily Mail quoted Keira as saying. "With 'The Jacket' you look s*** and that's great. It didn't matter what angle they wanted to film from. I didn't have to look perfect. It's all about finding the truth in any situation and the situation in this wasn't a pretty one," she added.

     London: George Clooney and Sandra Bullock have been voted the world's most attractive 40-year-olds according to a survey commissioned to celebrate the lives of 'Naughty Forties' for new mid-life comedy drama Huff, on TV channel FX 289. Others on the men's list were Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Mel Gibson. While Sandra Bullock cruised past Sharon Stone and Michelle Pfeifer to get the top spot in the women's category.
