25 Andhra TDP MLAs suspended for 10 days

     Hyderabad: Amidst uproarious scenes of TDP MLAs demanding a discussion in the Assembly on sitting member Paritala Ravi's murder, Speaker K Suresh Reddy suspended 25 party MLAs for 10 working days for obstructing proceedings in the state Assembly. The members were removed from the House by marshals as they refused to leave the House despite the Speaker's suspension orders. The house was also adjourned for 20 minutes after the speaker suspended TDP member N Janardhan Reddy from the house for making "unparliamentary remarks"..

Ravi Subramaniam hospitalised in Kanchi (Go To Top)

     Kancheepuram: Ravi Subramaniam, an accused turned approver in the Sankaraman murder case, in which the Kanchi Sankaracharya was cited as prime accused, has been admitted to the Government hospital here on Monday night after he complained of chest pain. According to the police, Ravi is undergoing treatment as in- patient and preliminary tests have been completed. Ravi had been lodged in the district sub-jail following his arrest in December in connection with the Sankaraman murder case. Earlier, on February 15, Electrocardiogram (ECG) and CT scan were done for him in the Government hospital and he was given treatment for pain in the chest and neck. Ravi, a building contractor, was arrested in Guruvaryur on December 26 and has been in custody on judicial remand. Ravi, who had been evading the police dragnet since the arrest of the Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Swamigal on Nov 11 last, had sent a letter to District Superintendent of Police Prem Kumar indicating that he was fed up with being on the run and was contemplating suicide.

     Chennai: Another case has been filed against the Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati by the Tamil Nadu police, this time the case relates to threatening the key approver, Ravi Subramaniam. In the case it has been said that the seer, though his lawyers, tried to threaten approver Ravi Subramaniam. The complaint was made by the wife of accused-turned-approver Ravi Subramaniam. She has said in her complaint, the two Mutt lawyers, Revathy and Nadira Banu went into the Chengelpet sub-jail and threatened Ravi Subramaniam apart from offering him a huge sum of money to retract his statement.
