'The Aviator' sweeps Golden Globe awards (Go To Top)

     Washington: The Howard Hughes biopic 'The Aviator' swept the 62nd Golden Globe awards after it won three out of the five awards categories it was nominated for. While the lead actor Leonardo Di Caprio won the best actor award and Howard Shore took home the Best Score award. The movie also won the best drama award, reports rate the music. Veteran actor turned director Clint Eastwood won the best director award for the movie his boxing drama Million Dollar Baby. In the television category, 'Desperate Housewives emerged the big winner as actress Teri Hatcher won the Best Actress honour, and the show picked up the night's Best TV Comedy award.

      'Ray' star Jamie Foxx won the best actor in a musical/comedy prize while 'Closer' stars Clive Owen and Natalie Portman won prizes for best supporting roles. Annette Bening won the best actress in a musical/comedy for 'Being Julia' while Spanish movie 'The Sea Inside' was named best foreign language film. Comic flick 'Sideways' was named best screenplay at awards held at Beverley Hills.

     London: A bitter court battle lies ahead for recently divorced couple- Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. In fact, a tug-of-war is likely to develop between Hollywood's one time hottest couple over their 100 million dollars fortune, as they never made a pre-nuptial agreement. 'The Mexican' actor and the 'Friends' star have promised to remain 'good friends' despite the end of their four-year-old marriage, but observers have reckoned that their 'friendly intentions' is likely to come under strain. The couple are reputed to own an 8 million dollars house, a ranch, a 3 million dollars yacht, a fleet of cars and a film production company. "Lawyers are already giving them advice that is not in the other's best interest. That's the way it goes in Hollywood. A major row is on the cards. It's only a matter of time," The People quoted a renowed lawyer as saying. "The word in the divorce community is nobody did a pre-nup. That's surprising because of the huge sum of money involved," said Industry pundit Harvey Levins.

'Alexander's historical advisor rubbishes Brad-Jolie affair (Go To Top)

     London: Director Oliver Stone's historical asdvisor Robin Lane Fox has rubbished Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's alleged romance, and calimed that Val Kilmer was the only man on the sets of 'Alexander' who showed romantic interest in the 'Tomb Raider' star. Fox revealed that Kilmer was the only male he noticed making a move on the sexy diva, and insists that Jolie had no role in Brad's split with Jennifer Aniston. "In my view there is no question of Angelina interfering in Brad Pitt's marriage," femalefirst quoted Fox as saying.

     London: Angelina Jolie has revealed that she does not regret snapping ties with her famous actor father Jon Voight because he had only brought negativity to her life. The 'Midnight Cowboy' star had openly discussed his daughter's serious mental problems in the press, and criticised her 'loose morals' in a note she read as she headed out on her first major United Nations trip. The sexy 'Original Sin' actress said that she had made up her mind at that very moment about severing her realtionship with her dad. "On the way to Cambodia with the UN to go into a minefield for the first time, that's the day (he) handed me this letter to tell me that I was a bad person," femalefirst quoted Angelina as saying. The stunning diva also cited her marriage to Billy Bob Thornton as proof that she is strong when it comes to throwing out destructive forces after her life. "That's why it was easy for me to divorce and easy for me not to speak to my father. I don't regret it," she added.

Britney Spears buys 'Lucky' dog (Go To Top)

     London: Pop star Britney Spears and her hubby Kevin Federline have bought a new dog called 'Lucky', and have created a dog bedroom in their brand new California mansion. The 'Toxic' singer and her younger sister Jamie Lynn bought puppies Lacy Loo and Allie Boo in July 2004, and then Britney went on to buy Chihuahua Bitbit in November 2004. "I have a new dog named Lucky and I just bought her a new dresser for her room. Yes, she has a room, which she shares with Bit Bit," femalefirst quoted Britney as saying. "For Christmas, they got a baby chandelier to go in it. It's the cutest thing in the world," added the 'Everytime' star.

Prince Harry will not go Easter skiing without chelsy (Go To Top)

     London: Prince Harry is reportedly planning to bunk his family's Easter skiing trip after being told that his girlfriend Chelsy Davy will not be invited. Harry has threatened not to join his father Prince Charles and brother William on the annual journey to Klosters after Charles said that it would not be appropriate to allow Chelsy to join them on the Swiss slopes. Harry has been given the all-clear to ski following a knee injury but Clarence House confirmed that he has not made up his mind about the trip. "It is unlikely Harry will be going on the trip. Charles has told him that bringing his girlfriend would bring too many paparazzi and put the wrong focus on the break," The Daily Mail quoted an insider as saying. "He knows banning Chelsy outright would have been a red rag to a bull with Harry. But by suggesting it would attract the wrong kind of publicity, Charles was appealing to Harry's sense of duty. It is more of a request to keep Harry onside. Charles is not anti-Chelsy. He just thinks she's a passing fad," he added.

Prince Harry makes amends (Go To Top)

     London: Prince Harry is reportedly making amends for his irresponsible behaviour at a costume party in which he wore a Nazi uniform, by doing menial work at his father's farm. According to the Sun, the angry PrinceCharles has ordered Harry to do a series of lowly jobs at his organic farm near Highgrove, Gloucs. "His father thought a few days getting his hands dirty might focus his mind," a royal source was quoted by the tabloid as saying.

Elvis Presley creates history with his 1,000th number one (Go To Top)

London: Elvis Presley has yet again, created history with his single 'One Night' becoming the 1,000th number one, his 20th UK chart topper. Elvis, who led last week's chart with 'Jailhouse Rock', has more number one UK hits than any other artist, beating The Beatles' 17 chart toppers, reports the BBC. Eighteen of Elvis tracks have been being re-released to commemorate his life.

Sean Connery has the best-loved voice in Britain (Go To Top)

     London: Veteran Hollywood actor Sean Connery who immortalized the role of the suave British agent 007 James Bond has the best-loved voice while Prime Minister Tony Blair's is a turn-off, according to a poll conducted in Britain. According to The Sun, the poll also revealed that people also love listening to Trevor McDonald, Terry Wogan and Hugh Grant. But they are likely to reach for the off switch when they hear Mr Blair, along with David Beckham, Cilla Black and Janet Street- Porter.

Chris Martin's close shave with death (Go To Top)

     London: Coldplay frontman Chris Martin had a close shave with death when his plane hit a dust storm as it tried to land at a remote African airstrip. According to The Sun, the singer, who is in Africa to publicise fair trade issues, revealed how his life flashed before his eyes as the pilot wrestled with the controls. Chris, who has an eight-month-old daughter, Apple, with actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow, said, "It was so terrifying. The plane was all over the place."

Paris Hilton denies she is dating Sting's son Jake (Go To Top)

     London: Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has denied rumours that she is dating veteran rocker Sting's 18-year old son, Jake Summer. The 23-year old 'Simple Life' star is reportedly very close to Summer and the two are together every time she goes to New York, reports Female First. Sources close to Summer, however have said that he is seeing her but is not serious about her. "Jake is a very friendly, fun guy and doesn't have a problem getting the ladies. Paris Hilton is no big deal to Jake, he can get any girl he wants," the report quoted an insider as saying. "He just thinks Paris is hot, but it's not like he takes any of it seriously," the source added.
