     London: Pop star Michael Jackson's dreams to make an impressive comeback after being cleared of child abuse charges last month, have been shattered with his new greatest hits CD just selling 8,000 copies in its first week in the US. According to the Sun, the 'Essential Michael Jackson' charted at a lowly 128 as fans snubbed the singer, and was even beaten by 1970s star Carly Simon's new CD 'Moonlight', which sold 58,000 copies. "Carly Simon sold 50,000 more albums than Michael Jackson," the paper quoted a spokeswoman for Neilsen Soundscan, which monitors the US record sales, as saying.

      London: Author of the Harry Potter series, J K Rowling, has been named UK's most powerful woman by Forbes magazine. According to the Daily Mail, Rowling replaces UK Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife Cherie Blair, who dropped to 50th place in the list. Rowling, who was on the 85th position in the world list last year, ranks 40th in the world list this time. Rose Marie Bravo, chief executive of Burberry, is 63rd, while the Queen is at the 75th place.

"I treat myself by taking a personal masseuse on the road with me when I tour," Carey was quoted by Contactmusic, as saying. Meanwhile, she is convinced that Micahel Jackson can make a comeback following his acquittal of child molestation charges, with her help. According to the Mirror, he will set off from Kansas and fly 29,000 miles in 90 hours that is 4,000 miles further than any plane has ever gone. He will pilot a single-engine Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer. It can fly at 45,000ft and travel at speeds of 300mph. "I am attracted by a challenge that is at the very edge of my ability and endurance," Fossett was quoted as saying. Virgin chairman Sir Richard Branson said: "This is the ultimate aviation record."
