     Washington: Julia Roberts is all set to make her Broadway debut next spring in a revival of Richard Greenberg's popular family drama, 'Three Days of Rain'. The actress, who gave birth to fraternal twins - Hazel and Phinnaeus - in November, opted for her first post-partum project to be a play. "I love its complications. I love the opportunity to get to play someone in contemporary times and then play the mother 30 years earlier," E!Online quoted her as saying to the New York Times in a telephonic interview. 'Three Days of Rain', to be produced by Marc Platt and David Stone, and directed by Joe Mantello, will premiere in March for a limited 12-week run. It is a mystery that revolves around siblings who uncover an unspeakable secret regarding their parents' relationship. "I knew that she could do it, but I wanted her to feel confident that it was the right play for her. I love this play, and I think she'll be magnificent in it," Mantello was quoted as saying.

Aniston's puppy-love to remain private (Go To Top)

    Washington: An ex-lover of actress Jennifer Aniston, who made headlines this week for promising to auction off their romantic memorabilia on eBay, has now scuttled the sale, after learning that Aniston was vehemently opposed to. Michael Baroni, who is a lawyer by profession in Southern California, had wanted to auction off Aniston's toilet-paper musings, a birthday card, a love letter, photos, trinkets etc. But, after hearing from Aniston's camp that she would prefer the items not be put up for bid, he nixed the plan. "I have nothing but fond memories of Jennifer as a friend, and only wish her well," E1Online quoted him as saying in an email. Baroni, who dated Aniston in 1984 when she was just 15, said that he last spoke to her in 1991, three years before she shot to fame in 'Friends'.

Diana memorial fund to be closed (Go To Top)

     London: Princess Diana Memorial Fund is to be closed after it lost a multi-million pound legal battle with a US souvenir firm. According to The Mirror, last year the fund battled Franklin Mint, a firm that makes collectibles, over selling commemorative Diana dolls, but eventually lost its fight. It was forced to pay 1 million pounds in court fees and to give 13.5 million pounds to charities the firm chose. "It's shutting. It always did have a limited life span but the legal problems haven't helped," an insider was quoted as saying. A spokeswoman for the fund said that a decision had been made to end money-raising activities. "There are reserves left but it is the case that the fund now has a limited life," she was quoted as saying.

     London: Jane Seymour had no problem baring her breasts in new movie Wedding Crashers because she loves to be naked. "Maybe I had to do this on behalf of women out there for whom it would be the ultimate fantasy. I have absolutely no problems with nudity. I happily wander about the house with no clothes on. I don't have the world's greatest body, but it's fine, I'm not obsessed with it," Femalefirst quoted her as saying.

     London: David Beckham has been photographed playing 'footsie' with a mystery woman, while his wife Victoria sat beside him. According to The Daily Mail, he was pictured sitting at a dinner table with his bare toes resting against the hem of the girl's jeans. However, onlookers say the foot faux par was not intentional as the couple were out enjoying a meal with two friends in the Spanish city of Seville. "They enjoyed a relaxed night out and they all let their hair down. No one would possible have noticed if David inadvertently overstretched slightly after his meal - except the person on the other side of the table," an insider was quoted as saying.

     Washington: 'Catwoman' actress Halle Berry has revealed that chatting with strangers on internet dating sites is her new pastime. The star revealed that she has acquired a range of pseudonyms and chats with unsuspecting netizens in chat rooms. "I spend lots of time in chat rooms being various names and people. I am never who I am. I have been to a couple of dating ones just to see what everybody is talking about. I chime in and say a little fun stuff," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

Nicole Kidman falls prey to alien 'Body Snatchers' (Go To Top)

     Washington: Aussie actress Nicole Kidman is reportedly all set to star in a remake of the 1956 sci-fi flick 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'. According to Zap2It, the original film, based on the novel by time travel writer Jack Finney, was helmed by Don Siegel, and centred on Dr. Miles Bennell, who discovers that the residents of his peaceful town have been been taken over by alien look- alikes. It was remade in 1978, and then in 1993. Filming for the third remake is scheduled to begin in October this year.

Cameron Diaz's 'makeouts' can be a knockout (Go To Top)

    Washington: Actress Cameron Diaz has accepted a public apology and undisclosed libel damages from British tabloid, The Sun, after it published a story alleging that she was caught in a makeout session with a married TV producer. The story was accompanied by photos of the 'Charlie's Angels' star embracing Shane Nickerson, a producer on her MTV show, 'Trippin'. Initially, the Sun had claimed that Diaz ducked into the bushes for a three-minute 'snog' with Nickerson, but now it has accepted that its version of events was inaccurate, and apologized to Diaz admitting that the story should never have been published. "The Sun now realized that the incident involved no more than Ms. Diaz giving a friend a goodbye hug and any suggestion of a romantic involvement is entirely untrue and without any substance whatsoever," E!Online quoted Diaz's lawyer, Simon Smith, as saying. Diaz has similar legal action pending against the National Enquirer, which also published a story linking her to Nickerson.
