Becks to introduce Robbie at Live 8 gig (Go To Top)

     London: England skipper David Beckham is expected to introduce British pop star Robbie Williams onstage at the London Live 8 concert in Hyde Park on July 02, which includes musical acts like Elton John, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd and Coldplay. The Live 8 concert, organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to help fight African poverty, is one of five taking place around the world on 2 July. According to the Sun, Beckham has agreed to introduce Robbie Williams onstage at the Hyde Park spectacular on July 2.

     London: Pink Floyd's members will reunite for the first time in 24 years at next month's Live 8 concert in London. Roger Waters, who left the rock band in the mid-1980s to pursue a solo career, will join band-mates Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright for the July 2 concert, organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to help fight African poverty. "Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world. Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile," BBC quoted Dave Gilmour as saying. Pink Floyd will be joined by a string of celebrities at Live 8, including Madonna, Rem, U2, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Coldplay and Robbie Williams.

Jennifer Aniston fills new pad with plants (Go To Top)

     London: Former 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston, who recently sold the mansion she shared with ex-hubby Brad Pitt to chat-show host Ellen Degeneres, has filled her 3-million pound new pad with two truckloads of plants. "The house is quite plain so Jen is jazzing it up. She's been pottering around the house and the plants will give her more privacy," femalefirst quoted a source as saying to Britain's Grazia magazine. The house is much smaller than her Hollywood pad and is close to the home her best pal Courtney Cox shares with husband David Arquette and baby daughter Coco. "Her new house is in quite a ritzy but it's a quarter of the size of the home she shared with Brad - and that's part of the attraction. She loves walking across the beach to pop into Courtney's and she's been sunbathing on the deck and enjoying her new single life," the source added.

Russell Crowe's tantrums cost him dinner with Bush (Go To Top)

     London: Russell Crowe's phone-throwing tantrum at a New York hotel has cost him a dinner date with American President George W Bush. According to the Sun, the 'Gladiator' star had to host a private screening of his latest film 'Cinderella Man', before spending the night at the White House, but after the hotel incident officials cancelled the appointment. Crowe, who injured a hotel clerk by throwing his room's telephone against a wall, will face assault and criminal possession of a weapon charges when he returns to Manhattan Criminal Court on September 14.

Sex toys inspire Missy Elliott to pen songs (Go To Top)

     London: R & B singer Missy Elliott has confessed that sex toys inspired her to write the song 'Toyz'. The rapper says she was thinking about two vibrators when she wrote the sexually explicit track. "Yeah, they were called the Rabbit and, oh God, the Mega Blaster, " she was quoted by Femalefirst, as saying. Meanwhile, Missy has hit back at speculation she is a lesbian. The sexy star says people jump to the wrong conclusions because they see an independent woman enjoying such success "When people see how strong I am, and there's not a man around, it's like, 'What is she doin'?' But I don't need a man to make me happy I need to make myself happy first," she said.

Keanu Reeves rubbishes marriage rumours (Go To Top)

     London: Hollywood star Keanu Reeves has denied rumours that he secretly tied the knot with his ex-girlfriend Autumn Macintosh last month in Los Angeles. According to femalefirst, Reeves' spokesperson claimed that the allegations are completely false and baseless. British newspapers had reported that the 'Matrix' actor, who resumed his relationship with Macinstosh after first dating her in 1990s, had a civil ceremony attended by family and friends at a small restaurant. The news stunned everybody because Reeves is reportedly dating his 'Il Mare' co-star Lynn Collins.

Cruise-Katie romance worries movie bosses (Go To Top)

     London: Producers of new film 'War of the Worlds' are worried that Tom Cruise's romance with Katie Holmes may divert people's attention from the movie, thereby jeopardizing its prospects. Martin Levy, an executive at Dreamworks studio, said that Cruise's romance reports are stealing headlines away from the Steven Spielberg directed movie. "You can have so much attention on a particular issue that maybe the movie doesn't get as much attention as it might. It's the topic of conversation for other reasons," femalefirst quoted him as saying. Recent polls published in 'People' and 'US Weekly' have showed that a majority of readers are skeptical about the sincerity of their affair.

Queen relegates Camilla to fouth place in royal list (Go To Top)

     London: Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall has been ranked fourth in the oficial royal list approved by the Queen. According to the DailyMail, a confidential Buckingham Palace document revealed that she is ranked below Princess Anne and Princess Alexandra in the list. Her new position is below that held by Princess Diana, who was ranked above all women in the Royal Family apart from the Queen and Queen Mother. And the Duchess of York, who had a similar title to Camilla, was listed third in the order of precedence when she married Prince Andrew. However, Buckingham Palace officials insisted Camilla had not been demoted by the Queen. "To reflect the Duchess's wish to be called Duchess of Cornwall rather than the Princess of Wales, the Queen took the opportunity to clarify the private administrative Precedence for the Palace. This is not a downgrading of the Duchess but merely reflects that the Duchess is a Duchess, not a Princess," a spokesman said.

Gurinder Chaddha to receive 2005 Chaplin Limelight Award (Go To Top)

     Washington: British Indian director Gurinder Chaddha of 'Bend It Like Beckham' fame will be honoured with the 2005 Chaplin Limelight Award at the upcoming Women's Image Network Awards. The director will join the likes of Catherine Hardwick and Vicky Jenson,as the recipient of the prestigious award, at a gala dinner in Los Angeles in September,reports Contactmusic. The award recognizes the talent of emerging women directors, whose work reflects a sense of innovation and originality, together with a standard of excellence.

Scarlett Johansson fantasises having car sex (Go To Top)

     London: Hollywood siren Scarlett Johansson has revealed that her favourite fantasy is to have sex on the back seat of a car. The Lost In Translation star, reportedly dreams of stripping off in a vehicle and claims that having sex in a car is sexy. "I do think having sex in a car is sexy," the Sun quoted the 20 year-old actress as telling the US issue of Playboy. "If I were in a really raunchy frame of mind and thinking of doing something crazy and kinky and sexy, the back seat would be it," she added.

     London: King of Rock n Roll Elvis Presley may have conquered the world with his music but he proved to be a disappointment in bed, according to the 70's icon Peggy Lipton. The former Mod Squad beauty, whose list of ex-boyfriends include Sir Paul McCartney and Keith Moon, was disappointed when her encounter with the Presley turned into an anti-climax. "He took me away on his plane and brought me up to Tahoe, I believe. We tried to go to bed right away," Lipton was quoted by Femalefirst, as saying. "There was nothing to talk about with Elvis. He was either doing his karate things or eating. There was really no dialogue there so we went to bed right away and it just didn't happen for him. We tried a few more times and nothing ever happened, so I just let it go," she added.

Benicio Del Toro 'too slow' to get lewd with Scarlett in a lift (Go To Top)

     London: Puerto Rican star Benicio Del Toro has reportedly responded to reports alleging him of getting raunchy with actress Scarlett Johansson in a hotel elevator, insisting that there was not enough time for getting naked in the lift of the eight-storey Chateau Marmount Hotel. "The Chateau Marmont only has eight floors. I would still be struggling out of my leather jacket by the second floor and wouldn't even have my shirt off at the seventh," the Femalefirst quoted him as saying. According to last year tabloids, the couple was found ' all over each other' in the lift on the prestigious Los Angeles hotel after the Academy Awards. Denying the reports, the actor later joked on the alleged lusty tryst and said, "We were making out or having sex or something, which I think is very unsanitary."
