     London: Kylie Minogue's diagnosis with cancer might have disappointed her fans but they now have reason to cheer up. According to The Sun, she has had two secret operations and been told she is clear of cancer. Kylie is reportedly said to be "thrilled and emotional" - though she still faces chemotherapy to prevent the disease returning.

Brosnan says he is too old for Bond  (Go To Top)

     London: Pierce Brosnan is out of the race to play James Bond again, for he thinks he is "too old at 52." "A few years ago I would have said I could imagine playing James Bond in a more ferocious way. Like a sort of Quentin Tarantino character - but now, at 52, I am definitely too old," The Sun quoted him as saying. There has been a lot of speculation about who will play Bond in the 21st Bond film. Bookies' favourite at 11/10 is Layer Cake star Daniel Craig. Other top names include Colin Farrell and Chris Feeney.

Sex with Jolie, far from sizzling, claims Billy Bob (Go To Top)

     London: Billy Bob Thornton, former husband of Angelina Jolie has revealed some bedroom secrets about his sex life with her, hinting that she was a big disappointment in bed. The director-turned-actor, who had three years of marriage with the sexy actress before splitting in 2002, has claimed that love- making with "sexiest person in the world" need not necessarily be satisfying and fun. He further added that average-looking women are "better in bed" as physical beauty is no guarantee of a wild time between the sheets. "Sex doesn't have to be with a model to be good. Sometimes with the model, the actress or the 'sexiest person in the world', it may literally be like fuc***g a couch," Femalefirst quoted him as telling British magazine Esquire. "Don't count out the average-looking woman, or even maybe the slightly unattractive woman, or the really unattractive woman. There may be this swarthy, little, five-foot-two stocky woman who just has sex written all over her," he added.

U2 honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award (Go To Top)

     London: Irish band U2 have been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 30th Nordoff-Robbins Silver Clef Awards. According to The Sun, band frontman Bono paid tribute to his fellow bandmates. "I'm standing here as the lucky member of a great band," he was quoted as saying. Veteran rockers The Who were the recipients of the 30th Anniversary Award, while Welsh star Katherine Jenkins was named winner of the Classical Award. Bob Geldof won the International Award for his work in Africa. Other winners included Natasha Bedingfield, Lemar, Razorlight and McFly.

Sharon Stone to strip again for Playboy (Go To Top)

      London: Hollywood diva Sharon Stone is poised to pose naked for Playboy magazine for the second time. The sexy siren has reportedly preferred to shoot in a tropical location for the men's magazine. "She's been asked to pose before the big 5-0. She thinks it'll be sexy to be in the sand," the Sun quoted a close friend of the 47 year-old actress as saying. Sharon first stripped for the magazine 15 years ago.

Versailles Palace to be backdrop for Live 8 (Go To Top)

     Washington: France's Versailles Palace has been chosen as the backdrop for Live 8 concert to be held on July 2. Although, organisers had wished to host the extravaganza at the Eiffel Tower, but it was branded a 'logistical nightmare' because of security concerns. "We need an iconic building to represent the wealth of our countries. There is a great, rich symbolism. In a global event like this, you must talk symbols. Also, I wanted a nice place to stay for the night," contactmusic quoted organiser Sir Bob Geldof as saying. The aim of the concert, also to be held in Berlin, London, Philadelphia, Rome, Tokyo, Toronto and Johannesburg, is to push for a political solution for African poverty ahead of G-8 summit next month.

War of the Worlds a tribute to Orson Welles: Spielberg (Go To Top)

     London: Steven Spielberg wants his new movie 'War Of The Worlds' to be a tribute to Orson Welles who first aired the play on radio in 1938. According to Femalefirst, listeners were terrified when the HG Wells' novel first aired for they were convinced aliens were actually invading. Although Spielberg's movie borrows little from the HG Wells novel,he hopes he can scare audiences just a little. "If my movie is effective on audiences, hopefully they'll be looking all around the theatre for somewhere to hide! That would be my tribute to Wells, if I was ever that lucky," he was quoted as saying.

Prince William accepts Camilla with a kiss (Go To Top)

     London: Prince William publicly kissed his new stepmother, Camilla Parker Bowles at a charity polo match in Gloucestershire. According to The Telegraph, it is seen as Williams' seal of approval to his father's marriage. Prince William kissed both of her cheeks as he came up to greet her. She presented the Burberry Cup to the home side as she presided over the event. William was forced to concede defeat in a charity polo match with the Highgrove team, which included the Prince of Wales. Despite a last-minute goal by Prince Charles, however, the team lost 5-4 to the home side.

Mariah Carey has had just five sex partners in life (Go To Top)

     London: Divine diva Mariah Carey has declared that she has slept with not more than five men in her whole life, which she says was not due to lack of opportunity. She also claims that she prefers the company of homosexual men, because they do not normally misunderstand her friendly advances. "I would need less than the fingers of one hand to count them all. I have had lots of boyfriends, but I did not have sex with most of them," Fox News quoted the 35 year-old singer as telling German Cinema magazine. "If I even look at a man, he immediately thinks: "Oh, she fancies me," she added.
