Jessica Simpson's hairstyle is 'Most Wanted'  (Go To Top)

     Washington: Jessica Simpson's 'Southern belle' hairstyle has been voted the 'Most Wanted Hairstyle' in a poll conducted by In Touch magazine. The singer beat out former 'Friends' star Jeniifer Aniston, Jessica Alba and 'Mr and Mrs Smith' actress Angelina Jolie, who got second, third and fourth places respectively. "I feel that chopping my hair off gave me more of a free spirit. But I still think big Texas, Southern hair is amazing," Ratethemusic.com quoted Simpson as saying.

Beyonce's gowns up for grabs (Go To Top)

    Washington: 'Destiny's Child' star Beyonce Knowles has to part with her favourite gowns. The singer is auctioning off the outfits, she has worn on her most memorable nights, to raise money for VH1's 'Save the Music' charity. "It's actually very hard for me because I love these dresses. I'd like to bid on all of them," she said about the designs, which were created by her mother Tina Knowles. According to Ratethemusic.com, the collection includes Beyonce's 2004 gold Grammys gown and the chainmail-style top she wore on the cover of solo album 'Dangerously in Love'. The auction is ongoing at New York's Museum of Television and Radio and has already raised more than 65,000 dollars since launching on Thursday night.

Earl Jones' illness causes 'Pond' to close (Go To Top)

      Washington: Actor James Earl Jones, better known as the voice of CNN and Darth Vader in 'Star Wars' movie, needs a break to recover from pneumonia, causing the Broadway revival of 'On Golden Pond', in which he starred, to close on June 27. Jones, who recently lent his voice to Fox's animated movie 'Robots', has been unwell since last week. According to doctors he wouldn't be able to work till August because of the seriousness of recuperating from pneumonia. "The entire 'On Golden Pond' family is heartbroken to close this production prematurely, and it's especially disappointing that James Earl Jones won't be with us for our final performances," Zap2It quoted a statement by producer Jeffrey Finn.

Timberlake may star in 'Black Snake Moan' (Go To Top)

     Washington: Justin Timberlake is reportedly in talks to star in writer-director Craig Brewster's new 13 million dollar drama titled 'Black Snake Moan'. According to Zap2It quoting the Hollywood Reporter, while Christina Ricci has already signed in to play a rural woman in the drama, Samuel L. Jackson is in negotiations to star in the Paramount Classics production. Timberlake will play Ricci's boyfriend. "The script is extraordinary. Similarly to 'Hustle and Flow,' this team will bring the same authenticity, craft and passion to 'Black Snake Moan'," the report quoted a statement by Paramount's co-presidents Ruth Vitale and David Dinerstein. Filming is scheduled to begin in September in Memphis with 'Hustle and Flow' producers John Singleton and Stephanie Allain also returning.

'Close Encounters' may have been of 'Third Kind' (Go To Top)

      Washington: Director Steven Spielberg is glad that he finished his latest movie 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind', which depicts alien invasion, before he became a father because otherwise the movie would not have had the same ending. Spielberg, father of seven, would never have a father turning his back on his family to leave earth with aliens because he could never imagine doing the same thing. "Close Encounters was about a man whose insatiable curiosity, more than just curiosity, developed into an obsession and the kind of psychic implantation drew him away from his family and, only looking back once, he walked onto the mother ship. That was before I had kids. That was 1977. So I wrote that blithely. Today, I would never have the guy leaving his family to go on the mother ship. I would have the guy doing everything he could to protect his children", Ratethemusic.com quoted Spielberg as saying.

Nicole Kidman terrified of exposing herself (Go To Top)

     Washington: Actress Nicole Kidman was extremely nervous and self-conscious of not exposing herself to the camera crew while mounting on a broomstick for her new movie 'Bewitched'. The Moulin Rougue star plays a witch in her latest movie, and was very concerned about keeping her dignity intact. "You get harnessed on it, and when they lift you up it's like you're flying. And you're thinking, 'Does this look okay? Cross your legs!'" Contactmusic.com quoted Kidman as saying.

Internet blamed for Scottish Live 8 ticket chaos (Go To Top)

     London: The company handling the ticket bookings for the Live 8 concert, Ticketmaster, to be held in Edinburgh, has blamed the Internet for the ongoing ticket chaos. Fans jammed on the company's phonelines when they were unable to finalise their bookings on the Internet, after they had received text messages, confirming that they had won tickets. A spokesperson insisted that there was nothing wrong with the company accounts, it was the Internet security feature instead that caused all the trouble. "We have been told of various stories about bogus SMS messages having been sent out, the codes being wrong and people not being allowed to claim their tickets. Ticketmaster have found no evidence to support any of these If it turns out someone is sending bogus texts in the name of this event, then they deserve to be punished and we can only apologise to people who are victims of these appalling scams", Femalefirst quoted CHRIS GORMAN, one of the organisers, as saying.
