Prince William, who had graduated last week with a 2:1 grade in his Geography degree, has become the most academically successful royal, beating his father's 2:2 degree in history, archaeology and anthropology from Cambridge University, reports Femalefirst. "That he was so upset is so out of character and really shows the extent of his distress," a friend told the Dailymail. William reportedly told friends: "I just can't believe this is happening again - when is it going to stop? It's totally intolerable that someone who was so trusted by my mother and taken into her confidence could betray her in this way."

Hugh Grant's sex scandal turns to art (Go To Top)

London: Charles Saatchi has bought a painting depicting the scene where Hollywood star Hugh Grant was caught in a "lewd act" with prostitute Divine Brown. Saatchi plans to display the painting in his County Hall gallery, along with another of the spot where actress Winona Ryder was arrested for shoplifting in 2001. The gallery-owner is thought to have paid 6,000 pounds for the landscape depiction of Sunset Boulevard, where Grant, then dating Liz Hurley, was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department. The paintings come from the Untitled Backdrop series by Dwayne Moser, in which the artist uses celebrity scandals as his inspiration. He then commissioned the scenic arts department at Warner Brothers to magnify the images into backdrops which look as though they are designed for a film. Love Actually star Grant was fined 800 pounds by a US court after pleading no contest to a charge of lewd conduct. While Ryder was arrested for shoplifting around 3,500 pounds worth of clothing and accessories from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills. "I am interested in turning the site of an off-screen event in a film star's life into a backdrop - thus suggesting the very public nature of their 'private' lives." Moser said.

Beach volleyball give women saggy breasts (Go To Top)

London: Playing beach volleyball can leave women with sagging breasts, according to a top German surgeon. The summer sport is a popular pastime in Germany where women are not afraid to jump about in the sand in their bikinis. But plastic surgeon Dr George Khoury, 39, from Hamburg, says the increasingly popular sport has created a growing number of female clients who have come to him complaining about sagging breasts. He warns that while the physical exertion might be good for the rest of the body, all the jumping and diving involved in beach volleyball puts a strain on women's breasts. "Vigorous movements and vibrations stretch the tissue around the breasts, which can lead to permanent sagginess," Fox news quoted Dr Khoury, as saying. "The female breasts, even small ones, were not made for swinging up and down 300 times within a short period of time, as happens in beach volleyball," he added. Dr Khoury added that if those addicted to the sport really did not want to give it up they could limit the harm to their breasts by playing less and wearing a sports bra.

'Holy Ghost' too scary for kids, claim educationists (Go To Top)

London: Ghosts, a quintessential part of British religious lessons, may soon dissolve into oblivion, if the education board has its way. According to The Mirror, the words "Holy Ghost" will be dropped from religious lessons because they scare children, and the body and blood of Jesus Christ will not be described as Eucharist because it seems too cannibalistic. The new guidelines for Norfolk schools also include axing of the phrase 'Old Testament' because it is too old-fashioned and 'Wailing Wall' because they sound negative. Educationists are however divided over the issue, with some supporting it and others opposing it. "This syllabus has strong support from teachers," the paper quoted Fred Corbett, assistant director of children's services for Norfolk, as saying. "They are trying to alter how children are taught traditional faiths," said Nick Seaton, chairman of the Campaign for Real Education.
