'Batman Begins' on IMAX theatres

     Washington: The upcoming film, 'Batman Begins', will be simultaneously released in IMAX theatres and conventional 35mm theatres on June 17, 2005, the IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. have announced. "This film will be the latest in a series of fantastic Warner Bros. Pictures releases which have helped change the way moviegoers experience Hollywood movies," Zap2It quoted IMAX Co- Chairmen Richard L. Gelfond as saying to the Hollywood Reporter. 'Batman Begins', which explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham, is scripted and directed by Christopher Nolan, and features Christian Bale as Batman, Michael Caine, Katie Holmes, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Tom Wilkinson and Cillian Murphy. It will be the eighth digitally-remastered Warners movie to premiere in IMAX theaters. Previous Warner/IMAX releases include films from the 'Matrix' and 'Harry Potter' series, and most recently, 'The Polar Express', which was presented in 3D.

J Lo gets wet with cement  (Go To Top)

     Washington: Pop star Jennifer Lopez planted her hands in wet cement while christening the MTV show Total Request Live's Touch Of Fame. According to ratethemusic.com, during the MTV daily show, guests have to put their hands in cement and the prints will all be sold off for charity in the future. Although, Lopez was offered latex gloves for the hand print session, she refused to use them, insisting on sticking her hands directly into the wet cement.

A king snake that ate up his own tail (Go To Top)

    London: You may have heard of snakes which eat other reptiles when hungry, but have you ever heard of a snake which eats up his own tail? According to Ananova, a king snake, which was the only display at the National Taidong Aquarium in Taiwan, had not eaten anything in 24 hours. He mistook his reflection for another snake, and swallowed it. But after an hour's emergency treatment, the reptile, mainly found in the North American desert, recovered.

Pak businessman's Rs.2.8 million tea with Aishwarya! (Go To Top)

    Islamabad: A Pakistani businessman has reportedly paid 2.8 million rupees for having tea with Bollywood star and former Miss World Ashwariya Rai. According to the Daily Times, the programme was arranged to raise funds for tsunami victims. One part of the programme, according to the Daily Times, meant spending an evening with famous Bollywood stars and directors by bidding through the Internet, Ali Riaz paid the highest bid for having tea with Aishwarya. It is yet to be decided whether Aishwarya will go to Pakistan or Ali Riaz will come to India or whether both will meet in some other country for the event. As per the report, the person with the highest bid would spend an evening with Bollywood actors and actresses including Ashwariya Rai, Amitabh Bachan, Abishek Bachan, Sanjay Dutt, John Abraham and others.
