William, Harry to have official minder

     London: Prince William and Harry are now going to have an official minder who will aid and advise the princes as they take on more official duties. Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, a former attendant to the Queen Mother, has been given the job of helping steer the two, reports Hello magazine. The part-time appointment comes at a particularly important time for William who graduates from St Andrews University this June and is expected to step into a more public role. Mr Lowther- Pinkerton will also be able to provide support and guidance for Harry who will be following in his footsteps when he attends Sandhurst this May. The Princes first official paid minder is also expected to act as an advisor to the boys, aiding them in choosing what engagements to take on, and what charitable work to get involved in as they get older and take on more official duties.

Charles bans snappers from his royal wedding (Go To Top)

     London: Prince Charles has reportedly prohibited cameras and mobile phones from his wedding to Camilla Parker Bowles, slated on the 8th of April. The Prince has taken this decision to avoid unnecessary hassles caused by photographs like the ones of Prince Harry in a Nazi uniform, reports the Sun. Guests, who will be frisked by guards, are also told not to buy presents for the couple as Charles does not to be swamped with unwanted gifts.

Jude Law sacks agent over Oscar jibe (Go To Top)

     London: Hollywood hunk Jude Law apparently did not take too lightly the jocular remarks passed by Chris Rock who hosted the 77th Academy Awards this year. Angered by Rock's jibe that he was a second-rate actor who would appear in any film going, Law sacked his agent and signed with a rival in an apparent attempt to be taken more seriously. Rock said of Law: "You want Tom Cruise and all you get is Jude Law? Wait. It's not the same thing. Even the movie he's not acting in, if you look at the credits he made cupcakes or something. He's gay, he's straight, he's American, he's British . . . If you can't get a star, wait." However, despite Rock's comments, Law was defended by Sean Penn, his co-star in the forthcoming All The King's Men. Presenting an award at the Oscars, he said: "He's one of our finest actors."

Godfather's Michael Corleone voted top movie criminal (Go To Top)

     London: Michael Corleone, the mafia boss in 'Godfather' played by Al Pacino has been voted as the best onscreen criminal in a survey by Sky movies. While, Godfella's character Tommy DeVito, played by Joe Pesci in the 1990 Martin Scorcese movie grabbed the second position, Max Cady, played by Robert De Niro in Cape Fear came in at third spot.

Tony Blair prefers rock music to politics (Go To Top)

    London: The British PM Tony Blair has confessed that he would prefer being a rock star rather than a politician. Blair revealed that he was more comfortable on stage singing a Rolling Stones number than delivering a political speech. "Funnily enough, every single thing I've ever done in my life that I've gone on stage for whether acting or politics, speaking, giving lectures I've always been very nervous. And I still get very nervous with public speaking," he was quoted by the Mirror as saying. "I think it's a prerequisite of doing the job properly. But singing on stage with the band, I just loved it. I was never nervous. I remember really, really enjoying it and thinking, 'I could probably do this - if I had more talent, he added.

Britney wants to be a model mum (Go To Top)

     London: Pop singer Britney Spears has reportedly revealed that she will only start a family when she's ready to quit the music industry as she wants to devote her entire time to her family. The singer has denied reports that she's expecting but admits that she would love to have a child. "I can't wait. To be a really good mom, I feel your child needs to be your full-time job, so it would have to be at the right time," the Toxic singer was quoted by Femalefirst, as saying. "I want to share all of those precious moments with them and not rely on nannies," she added.

Couple sets 51-hour sleepless record (Go To Top)

     London: A couple from Nicaragua won a competition organised by a shopping Mall, by lying awake in bed for 51 hours. According to Terra Noticias Populares Silvio Jarquin Rostran and Janeth Margarita Cerrato won the competition promoted by Managua Shopping Mall in Mangua. They cruised past five other couples and won a car after spending 51 hours lying awake in bed in the middle of the shopping centre.

Viagra to help patients recover from stroke (Go To Top)

    Washington: Researchers from the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit who recently launched a safety study using Viagra to determine its use in helping patients recover from stroke, have revealed that drugs like Viagra helped generate new brain cells, which in turn lessened functional deficits. Experiments on animals with stroke on being treated with Viagra, showed significant neurological functional benefit. The animals did much better on many different outcome measures, including motor function, neurological outcome and weight gain. There were far fewer functional deficits. Animals treated with Viagra days after stroke had a significant reduction in neurological deficit and a significant induction of new brain cells. "What we found is that we can use certain drugs like Viagra to create new brain cells. When mice and rats with stroke are treated with Viagra, the drug provides very significant functional benefit. These animals do much better. There are far fewer functional deficits. Days later there is reduced neurological deficit and new brain cells," Michael Chopp, Ph.D., scientific director of the Neuroscience Institute at Henry Ford Hospital was quoted as saying. Earlier also the hospital used Viagra for two Michigan patients for neurological recovery, under compassionate basis. One patient, Rene Jarinski, 43, who was diagnosed with locked in syndrome, a condition in which she could only move her eyes up down, was treated with Viagra since suffering a stroke in July 2003 and after being administeres with doses of amounting 50 and 100 milligrams, initially which graduated to 150 milligrams daily, she was able to smile, eat, move all four limbs and stand up with assistance.

     New York: 'Catwoman' star Halle Berry claims that she is right now at the top of her sexual confidence and is searching for a new and loyal lover. And although Halle feels that a woman has to be ladylike, shy and yet a freak in the bed so that her man remains faithful to her, she is not ready to accept any more cheating after she left Eric Bennet, her second husband over his infidelity. "I feel sexual confidence, but there's only a certain amount of bullshit I'm willing to take, Pagesix.com quoted Halle as saying.
