Topless women pelt Charles with protests (Go To Top)

     Sydney: Prince Charles got a rather different kind of welcome instead of a traditonal 'Maori haka' , on reaching Wellington for an official function, where he was greeted by two topless Kiwi women shouting out protest slogans, apparently aimed at the monarchy. According to the local media reports, over 600 people had gathered to see the Prince who was travelling the third day of his five-day royal tour to New Zealand. While one blonde women who had written, "Get your colonist shame off my breasts" across her bare torso,and who was later arrested, another topless woman carrying her baby was wisked away by detectives crying "I just want to feed my baby" - as she was waiting in the crowd to shake hands with the Prince. Though the objective of these protest was not clearly known, people in the crowd were heard chanting, "Shame on the British monarchy, shame for years of colonialism, shame for years of genocide."

Charles dumps Di's ring (Go To Top)

     London: Prince Charles has taken off the gold wedding ring given to him by Princess Diana 23 years ago, reports The Sun. According to the report, Charles - who is due to marry Camilla Parker Bowles in a civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall on April 8 - was seen for the first time without the ring yesterday in New Zealand. Charles, 56, had removed it once earlier when he and Diana divorced in 1996 but slipped it on again on his little finger, after her death in 1997.

      Meanwhile, 57- year-old Camilla, has also removed a ring from her third finger, reported to be a gift from ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles. "Prince Charles and Camilla took a joint decision to remove the wedding bands they still wore. With their wedding just a month away, it was the fitting thing to do", The Sun quoted a royal insider as saying.

     New York: Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart, the founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, has been voted the world's most loved entrepreneur. Stewart deserves to be the best despite being imprisoned for five months over a stock trade case because as a businesswoman she served the "best interests of employees, suppliers, business partners, and customers" of her company, Page six.com quoted a poll conducted by America's Inc. Magazine as saying. Britney goes from blonde to brunnette (Go To Top)

    London: Britney Spears has changed her famous blonde locks for a brunette look. The singer was spotted ablase in her fresh gear while she was leaving a studio outside Los Angeles on Saturday after a photo shoot, reports, Hello Magazine. According to reports, the 23-year-old popstar joins a host of A- listers including Charlize Theron, Renee Zellweger and Reese Witherspoon who have swapped their light hair to turn brunettes of late. Britney had briefly sported a mocha-brown hairstyle last year but had soon reverted back to blonde. She was then sighted in a brunette wig in early February.

Britney credits Kabbalah for easing her marriage (Go To Top)

     London: Defending the much-despised celebrity religion Kabbalah, pop diva Britney Spears has said that her faith in the ancient Jewish teaching has helped her cope with some very hard times since she got married. The popstar has shared with her fans in a recent posting on her website that the last few months have been trying for her, but Kabbalah has helped her wade through all her problems. "There came a point where not even my family or my advisors had the answers I needed. The answers I was looking for were all in my heart. Through Kabbalah, I was able to look within myself, clear all the negative energy and turn my life around", Femalefirst quoted the singer as saying. According to the internet message, Britney came out in support of Madonna, who has been harshly criticised, for turning to Kabbalah and she advises all her fans to set aside time for praying.

Kate Winslet tops Most Glamorous Gown poll (Go To Top)

     London: Kate Winslet's cornflower blue colour gown, which she wore on the Oscar's night, has been voted the Most Glamorous Gown in a poll conducted by Hello magazine. The jewel-encrusted Badgley Mischka creation helped the 'Finding Neverland' star fetch 20.3 percent votes, while the 'Aviator' actress, Cate Blanchett, who got the best supporting actress award at the Oscars, grabbed the second position with 16.2 percent votes - thanks to the lemon silk Valentino dress she wore.

'King Kong' keeps Naomi Watts away from 'The Ring' (Go To Top)

     Sydney: Actress Naomi Watts is so busy shooting for Peter Jackson's remake of 'King Kong' that she remained absent from all media events in the US to promote her movie 'The Ring 2', which opens on March 24. According to sources, Watts, who is shooting in New Zealand, didn't have any time to leave the set. "It's a really difficult movie and she's in, I think, 80 per cent of it," the Herald Sun quoted 'The Ring 2' producer, Laurie MacDonald, as saying. Watts, however, might make a quick trip to Australia for the premiere of 'The Ring 2', which is a sequel to 2002 horror hit, 'The Ring'. The film is Japanese fright master Nakata's Hollywood directing debut.
