Impersonating as cop to meet women

London: A bogus policeman who stopped female drivers for speeding, confessed to real cops that it was the only way he could meet women. The 41-year-old man, from Carinthia in Austria, bought a police uniform from a fancy dress shop and made his own flashing light. He placed the light on top of his car before stopping female drivers, showing them a home-made badge and asking to check their documents. But he let them all go after warning them . He admitted to police officers that he was hoping one of the women drivers would fall for him after he was caught by police who set up a trap for him using a female officer. The public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation and called for all the seven female drivers whom the bogus policeman stopped. . "It was the only way I could meet women. I was hoping one of them would have a penchant for a man in uniform and give me their number, but it didn't work," Fox news quoted him as saying.

School suspends white girl for wearing braids (Go To Top)

London: Racial discrimination seems to have surfaced yet again with a girl being suspended from school just because because she wore braids just like black girls her age. According to The BBC, the head teacher at Middleton Technology School in Rochdale deemed it "extreme" when Olivia Acton returned from a holiday with braids. Acton has been excluded until the braids are removed and the school has offered to teach her apart from other pupils. However, Olivia regards the school's policy as discriminatory because black pupils are allowed to wear braids. She added that she was not aware her new hairstyle would breach strict rules drawn up by governors which state that children "cannot have their head shaved or wear extreme hair fashions of any sort". "It's like one rule for black children and another rule for white. I'm not going to take the braids out. I don't think I should take them out because I'm not black," she was quoted as saying. "The school has firm and clear rules about what hairstyles are acceptable, which are communicated to all pupils and parents. In this instance, a pupil was asked to change her unacceptable hairstyle, and when she did not comply, she was excluded for one day because of her failure to observe the school rules," a spokesman from the school was quoted as saying.

Eat yogurt to stay slim (Go To Top)

Washington: A new study conducted by researchers at the University of Tennessee suggests that eating youghurt helps fat loss in the body. The researchers found that obese adults who ate three servings of fat-free yogurt a day as part of a reduced-calorie diet lost 22 percent more weight and 61percent more body fat than those who simply cut calories and didn't bone up on calcium. Yogurt eaters also lost 81percent more fat in the stomach area than non-yogurt eaters. "Not only did yogurt help the study participants lose more weight -- the average weight loss was 14 pounds -- they were about twice as effective at maintaining lean muscle mass. This is a critical issue when dieting -- you want to lose fat, not muscle. Muscle helps burn calories, but it is often compromised during weight loss," lead researcher Michael Zemel said. In the study, researchers compared the effects of adding yogurt to a reduced-calorie diet on weight loss in 34 healthy obese adults who were divided into two groups. For 12 weeks, the first group ate three 6-ounce servings of fat- free yogurt providing about 1,100 milligrams of calcium per day; the other group ate only one serving of dairy providing 400-500 milligrams of calcium per day. Both groups ate a controlled diet that contained 500 fewer calories than normal to stimulate weight loss.
