Hitchcock's 'The Birds' remake to hit big screens soon

     London: Pearl Harbour director Michael Bay is reportedly all set to remake Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 thriller 'The Birds'. The new version is based on a short story by Daphne Du Maurier which inspired Hitchcock's original movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Tippi Hedren starred in the 1963 thriller about vicious birds that terrorise a small town. The film marks a renewed interest in Hitchcock's classics in Hollywood. Psycho was remade in 1998, A Perfect Murder was a retelling of his Dial M for Murder and there are also plans to rework the British director's Stranger S on a Train.

     London: Halle Berry might have got the looks to make it as the topmost actress in Hollywood but she claims she is insecure about her looks. "Although such things do wonders for my confidence, I'm never able to take them seriously. If they really knew me, they'd realise that I'm far from secure about my looks," Female first quoted her as saying.

     London: Charlotte Church seems to be high on partying these days, and even money doesn't seem to get in her way. According to Female first, she spent more than 1.9 million dollars on holidays and partying since coming into her fortune last year (04). Her extravagance has seen her company accounts drop from more than 3.5 million dollars to 1.5 million dollars in only 12 months.

Angelina Jolie says she is no 'marriage wrecker' (Go To Top)

     Sydney: Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie has confessed that she is no "wicked witch" who caused the spilt between Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. "I've been painted as the Wicked Witch of the West and a marriage wrecker," Jolie was quoted by the Herald Sun as saying. "I was just a shoulder to cry on. The truth is I was there to help him through the pain. He longs to be a father and he has been in emotional turmoil for a long time because that hasn't happened," she added. The media held Jolie responsible for the break up between Hollywood's most beautiful couple, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Meanwhile Jolie revealed that she would like to get married again but only after she foud the right man. "I really don't know if I would marry again. Obviously I think it's a wonderful thing when there's a dad in the house and when people have the traditional marriage, but I also think it's better to have no one than the wrong person around," she said.

Shakira paints herself black for new video (Go To Top)

     London: Colombian pop stunner Shakira has come up with a new look for her new video La Tortura. According to Femalefirst, she appears covered head to toe in black greasepaint in a dance scene. She teamed up with choreographer Jamie King to create a sensual new dance routine for the rooftop scene. "Jamie came up with the great idea of the woman painted in black. I think it's an element of great impact in the video; it's very tribal," she was quoted as saying.

Depression is the secret behind Goldie Hawn's smile (Go To Top)

     Washington: Goldie Hawn might be known for her smiles but it seems that they were just a front for severe depression that marred her early career. According to Contact music, this has been revealed by her in her upcoming autobiography A Lotus in the mud. "During that period I went into a period of depression, a fear and anxiety and non-specific anxiety attacks... I lost my smile. I had to force it," she was quoted as saying.

     Washington: Actress Angelina Jolie has reportedly told some of her close friends that she wants to leave the world of films. The 29-year old actress has said that she doesn't need the money or the hassle of being a part of movie making anymore. She wants to do more work and spend time with her son Maddox so she'll at least take a long break. Jolie is also said to be concerned about the impact of Hollywood on Maddox, The News of the World, quoted some of her friends as saying. There are also rumours circulating about the Tomb Raider star marrying Brad Pitt after his divorce from wife Jennifer Aniston .

Jlo is 'Monster-in-Fur' for PETA activists (Go To Top)

     London: Latino beauty Jennifer Lopez was greeted by Anti-fur protesters, at the premiere of her latest film, Monster- in-Law. Campaigners on behalf of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) were protesting against the use of fur in Lopez's Sweetface fashion range. The Peta campaigners claim they have asked the actress several times to eliminate fur from her clothing line, but have been ignored. "She could make a difference in a positive manner, and what she does is cause the death of a lot of animals," protester Linda Kraemer was quoted by the BBC as saying. Confronted by placards bearing the slogan 'Monster-in-Fur', Lopez was asked what she thought about the protesters. "I don't," she replied.

Roger Moore returns as 'The Saint' (Go To Top)

     London: Former James Bond Sir Roger Moore is all set to make a comeback as 'The Saint' more than 35 years after he last stepped down as the suave British double agent. The actor revealed that a TV movie about an ageing Simon Templar is being written, with him in the lead role at the age of 77. "There are moves afoot to make a new Saint TV movie. The characters will be very faithful to the original stories - it will be actually set in the thirties, though with a contemporary twist, bringing in an ageing Templar," Moore was quoted by Femalefirst, as saying. "Who will play him, I wonder," he added.
