Shoaib buries Bhatt's film offer (Go To Top)

     Karachi: Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtarhas finally put an end to the speculations that he would accept a role in Bollywood producer Mahesh Bhatt's forthcoming movie "Gansger". His media manager met Bhatt in Karachi and declined the offer on behalf of Shoaib. The unidentified media manager reportedly told Bhatt that as of now Shoaib's first priority was cricket and that he was concentrating on making a comeback in the national team after missing two crucial series against India and West Indies. "The media manager thanked Bhatt for considering Shoaib for the film but made it clear to him that the pace bowler would not be taking up an acting career and that he wanted to concentrate full time on cricket," The News quoted sources close to the fast bowler as saying The sources added: "He told Bhatt that Shoaib was very keen to make a comeback to the Pakistan team and realised the only way he could do this was to concentrate 100 per cent on cricket and go and perform for Worcestershire." Bhatt was in Karachi for the premier show of his film "Nazar" starring Pakistani actress Meera. He offered the role to Shoaib after not being able to get dates from Bollywood stars Sanjay Dutt and John Abraham, said the report.

     London: Sir Elton John is all set to produce his first Hollywood movie in a bid to improve the fortunes of his company Rocket Pictures, which is reported to have a 51.3 million dollars overdraft. The legendry singer, who will produce the film 'It's a Boy Girl Thing' with his lover David Furnish, is hopeful that the movie will change his fortune by recovering his current financial loses. "This will be our first joint production with our company Rocket Pictures and we've been working on it for months. The movie will be shot mainly in Canada and we've signed up an as-yet-unknown Canadian actor as one of the leads," femalefirst quoted Furnish as saying.

Sharon Stone disappoints Bill Murray in bed (Go To Top)

     London: Hollywood star Bill Murray has revealed that he was uncomfortable shooting love scenes with the sexy Sharon Stone in their new movie Broken Flowers. According to The Sun, Bill shared an intimate on-screen moment with the Basic Instinct beauty but he admitted that he found the whole experience very scary. "It was kind of a disappointment. I didn't think there would be all those people watching. With cameras," he was quoted by the LA Daily Times. "She's been in those movies where people end up dead, so it (the love scene) made me a little jumpy," he added.

Kylie's 5-year wait for a baby (Go To Top)

     London: Kylie Minogue's ongoing battle with cancer seems to have shrouded her dream of having a baby at least by another five years. According to The Sun, Minogue must hold on in case she needs chemo or radiotherapy, which can harm an unborn baby. She was diagnosed with a lump in her breast that seems to have thwarted her and lover Olivier Martinez's plans to have a baby. "The real blow to them is not so much the cancer itself - it's that they have to put off trying for a baby." Olivier's brother Vincent was quoted as saying.

Robbie's 'Angels' best song of the decade (Go To Top)

     London: Angels by Robbie Williams has come out on the top in a poll conducted by Radio 2 on its listeners for the best song from each decade since the 1950s. According to The Sun, Angels was voted the best song of the past 10 years (1995-2004). West End Girls was the top song of 1985- 1994, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen of 1975-1984, Space Oddity by David Bowie of 1965-1974 and You Really Got Me by The Kinks of 1955-1964. The poll was held to mark the 50th anniversary of the Ivor Novello Awards and listeners chose from a shortlist of 25 songs selected by an expert panel of songwriters. "When we asked listeners to select their favourite song from five decades of great British hits we always thought the Beatles or John Lennon - who between them got the most nominations - would top at least one of the decades. How wrong we were. The listeners have voted and The Beatles are out. Great songs like You Really Got Me, Space Oddity and Bohemian Rhapsody are regarded as being not just on a par with Lennon and McCartney, but out in front in their contribution to and influence on British music." Radio 2 music editor Colin Martin was quoted as saying.

Macaulay Culkin to pen book on troubled childhood (Go To Top)

     London: 'Home Alone' star Macaulay Culkin is all set to pen a book about his troubled childhood. The actor, who famously "divorced" his parents to gain control of his 17 million dollar fortune, has signed a deal with Miramax books, reports Pagesix.com. According to contactmusic, Culkin's novel Junior includes "a dizzying kaleidoscope of words and images." The book will revolve around Culkin and his quest to come to terms with the pressures of childhood mega-stardom and a dysfunctional family.

     Washington: Virgin Records founder Sir Richard Branson seems to have inspired Elizabeth Hurley to realise her dream of starting a clothing line. According to contact music, she said that her new summerwear line Elizabeth Hurley Beach wouldn't have started her new business if it wasn't for Branson. "I was on one of Richard Branson's islands (Necker) and realised this man had built this astonishing empire himself. I thought, 'It's about time I made an effort, even if it's going to be miniature,'" she was quoted as saying.

Hilton munching burger in swimsuit too hot for surfers (Go To Top)

     Washington: Paris Hilton's new burger commercial has become so popular that a website publicizing the ad crashed for four hours as net surfers raced to see the hotel heiress doused in suds. The 60-second advert on www.spicyparis.com shows Hilton washing a Bentley and munching Carl's Jr's spicy BBQ Burger in a stringy black swimsuit. The company representatives said that a day after Carl's Jr launched the site, it crashed and was down for about four hours. "It was a mixed blessing. It turned out that Paris was too hot for our servers," Contactmusic quoted Carl's Jr's executive vice president of marketing Brad Haley as saying.

Beyonce sacks her father as manager (Go To Top)

     Washington: Beyonci Knowles's father might have been in her management team but she has sacked him after a furious bust-up over her backing dancers. "Beyonce's had it with her dad. The final straw came during a conversation with one of her backing dancers who convinced her it was time to make a fresh start," Female first quoted an insider as saying. However, a spokesman for Beyonce has refused to confirm that the 23-year-old singer has sacked her father or made any changes to her management team.

Naomi's stylist stole her clothes (Go To Top)

     London: Naomi Campbell's stylist Jurgen stole her clothes in Cannes after a furious bust-up with her. According to Femalefirst, Jurgen reportedly arrived with a selection of outfits for Campbell to wear to her birthday party and to a charity bash. But after exchanging heated words with Naomi, he sped-away from her yacht on a jet-ski with all her clothes leaving her in just her bra and knickers. "When Jurgen got there, he and Naomi had a furious row. Afterwards, Jurgen headed off on a jet-ski moored to the side of the boat, along with her clothes," an insider was quoted as saying.
