London:
Madonna's husband Guy Ritchie has reportedly quit the
mystical Jewish religion Kabbalah, infuriating the pop diva.
The 'Snatch' director reportedly told the sexy singer he
is turning his back on the mystical Jewish faith because
he has wasted too much time following it. "Madonna is absolutely
fuming with Guy. Kabbalah is her life and she feels like
Guy has rejected her as well as the cult, a source was quoted
by Britain's Daily star as saying. "It took her years to
convince him to join the sect and she was thrilled by his
growing enthusiasm for it over the past years," he added.
Guy fears his involvement in the sect even ruined his new
gangster film 'Revolver', which has been panned by critics.
The star allegedly believes he should have spent more time
on set and less time taking part in the cult's rituals.
He reportedly also regrets following Kabbalah devotee Madonna's
advice and including references to the religion in his movie.
"The horrific reception 'Revolver' has received has undone
all of Madonna's good work Critics hate the Kabbalah plugs
He wants to distance himself from it But Madonna is such
a staunch supporter; it will make their marriage very difficult,
" the source concluded.

Washington:
Acne problems are not what any ordinary person would
want to be caught dead with, least of all superstars, but
Bridget Jones star, Renee Zellweger, may just have to thank
her spotty problem for landing her a role in a biopic on
Janis Joplin. According to a skin specialist in California,
the actress will be able to appreciate the torment the rock
legend went through with adult acne, since she too had gone
through the hellish problem. "Since Renee Zellweger has
talked about having this condition, she may better connect
with whatever emotional demons drove Janis Joplin," Contact
Music quoted Dr Vail Reese, as saying. And according to
the actress herself, the trauma of acne sufferers was much
more than cosmetic. "Having adult acne is more than just
a cosmetic issue. It erodes people's confidence and lowers
self-esteem," she was quoted, as sating.

Asian anchors in sari for British TV channels (Go
To Top)
London:
British TV news anchors should wear saris at times to
showcase Britain as a multicultural society, David Mannion,
the editor-in-chief of ITV News, has said. Criticising Britain's
television newsrooms for being "too white", he called for
"positive discrimination" to make them more multicultural.
Mannion was speaking at a conference on cultural diversity.
"News programmes were failing parts of society because on-screen
faces were overwhelmingly white, and one way of tackling
the issue would be to show a presenter wearing a sari. The
multicultural society ... is not reflected in our newsrooms,
and if that means we need to take positive discriminatory
measures, then let's do it," The Scotsman quoted him as
saying. According to the paper, Mannion's remarks are reminiscent
of those made four years ago by Greg Dyke, the-then director
general of the BBC, who described the TV channel as "hideously
white". The paper further said that ITV News had a number
of prominent Asian and black journalists on the screen,
including Sir Trevor McDonald and Nina Hossain, the co-presenter
of the lunchtime news. The BBC's head of newsgathering,
Fran Unsworth, said the corporation had tried 200 initiatives
on cultural diversity in the past decade, but had still
failed to make major headway, it added.
