I am not commercialising Ashtanga yoga, says Oz model

Melbourne:Sonia Tudor Jones, a Sydney-born former Australian model, has revealed that she is unashamed about wanting to bring ultra-intense Ashtanga yoga to the masses and is rejecting claims that she is turning the discipline into an overly-commercialised form of “McYoga”. The New-York based mother of four has joined forces with the family of late Ashtanga-yoga master Krishna Pattabhi Jois to create emerging powerhouse Jois Yoga, with a branch in Sydney , run by her sister Michelle Bennett. According to The Sunday Telegraph, Jones was proud to spread the Jois Yoga message. She even rejected claims in US magazine Vanity Fair she was at the centre of a “war” within yoga circles over teachings and purpose. “There is never a war unless people are fighting and there is no fight in Ashtanga Yoga,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying. In her bid to spread the word, she launched a chain of Jois Yoga studios and high-price yoga accessories boutiques - including one in Bondi - using her hedge-fund billionaire husband's wealth and her own passion for “inner peace”.
