Miss Northeast contest held in Nagaland

Dimapur (Nagaland): The 10th edition of Miss Mega Northeast Contest 2012, held recently here witnessed a captivating blend of beauty and brains as 27 finalists from the northeastern states competed for the coveted title. The event began with the contestants walking the ramp in casual and ethnic wear, followed by a question and answer round with the jury. Zennyla Bhutia of Sikkim emerged the winner, while Preeti Thapa of Meghalaya and Ibethoi Thokchom from Manipur bagged the 1st and the 2nd Runners Up titles respectively. Last year’s winner Sukanya Rajguru conferred the title on Bhutia, who said it (the title) was a dream come true for her. “I was not expecting when they announced my name. It was the most exciting moment in my life and one of my biggest dreams has come true,” she gushed. It was the first time the event was held in Nagaland. The pageant opens new vistas of a modelling career for young and talented girls from the region.
