London: Victoria Beckham, who’s clothing line has been a global hit and was deemed Designer Brand of the Year at the 2011 British Fashion Awards, is planning to launch a flagship
store in London. Currently the 38-year-old’s label is sold through luxury department
stores and e-boutiques including Net-a-Porter. But the singer-turned-designer
now hopes to launch her own standalone shop and e-commerce site, while expanding
her brand into Asia . “People say, ‘Am I going to have my own store?’ I would
love to,” the Daily Mail quoted her saying on CNN’s ‘Talk Asia’. “That’s what
I’m working on at the moment. “It would probably be in London , but in the not-too-distant
future maybe it will be Hong Kong . Who knows?” she said. Last month, she went
to Beijing and Hong Kong with daughter Harper, to launch a limited edition Range
Rover Evoque which she helped to design. During her visit she promoted her eponymous
womenswear range, stepping out in a selection of signature VB dresses. She revealed
that while she is excited at the prospect of growing her business empire, she
is also wary of growing too fast. “What I do really is not just focus on the US
or England . “I mean there’s a lot of territories that are really big for me and
Asia is very exciting. “I’m just scratching the surface at the moment. I want
take baby steps with this business; I don’t want to run before I can walk,” she
added.
