Photo exhibition in Sikkim to promote northeast's art and culture
Gangtok: In a bid to endorse art and culture of the northeast and to provide a platform for
the budding photographers, a 15-day long photo exhibition was organised here recently.
Speaking to reporters here, Prabin Khaling, a photographer, expressed his gratitude
towards the organisers and highlighted the significance of the event. “Earlier,
we did not get any specific platform to showcase our talent and get appreciation
of the people. This is for the first time that such exhibition has been organised
for us,” Khaling said. He also mentioned that exhibition was the best way to disseminate
information about cultural tradition of the state. The photo exhibition commenced
on August 19 was systematized by a local art school in collaboration with senior
photojournalists across the state. The pictures mainly depicted different kinds
of costumes worn by the locals, images of warriors and wildlife.
