Two-week national handicrafts fair, sale, exhibition at Dilli Haat

NEW DELHI: An exhibition-cum-sale fair of handicrafts developed by artisans of clusters will open at the Dilli Haat in New Delhi on Tuesday. To be inaugurated by Minister of State for Textiles Santosh Kumar Gangwar, the fair will remain open for the public till February 15. Cluster artisans from all over the country will participate in the fair.

The fair will provide a direct marketing platform for innovative products developed by 120 artisans of handicrafts clusters supported and promoted by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts). The event will showcase the best of Indian handicrafts in quality, design and versatility from all over the country.

The exhibition is expected to increase the visibility of the handictaft products in the domestic market. The programme will also benefit the artisans from clusters who are unable to participate in international fairs.

Space and infrastructure facilities are provided free of cost to the participants. A thematic display for the cluster artisans and a cultural programme representing the folk art will also be held at the Dilli Haat.

The fair is promoted by the Council of Handicrafts Development Corporations and the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts).
