Maoists kill three in Chhattisgarh
Bastar (Chhattisgarh):Three civilians were shot dead by the Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district on charges of being police informers. According to sources, the Maoists stormed into Pattegaon village in Bastar district and took away four people. The bullet-ridden bodies of three of them were found in a forest on Monday. "They (the Maoists) tied the three of us together, and locked up the other family members in a room. They then beat us up and thrashed us, and three died on the spot," said Parshuram, the injured victim. Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, suspected Maoists killed two villagers in Simdega District. The Maoists tricked the two into going to a nearby jungle, and later shot them and threw their bodies at a crossroad. Police officials found a letter in which it was written that the victims were members of a militant group called the Jharkhand Liberation Tigers (JLT), and were police informers.
