'Aisha', a fun-filled romantic film, says Sonam Kapoor
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor has described her new flick 'Aisha' as a fun filled romantic film. Sonam, who
promoted the movie along with Cyrus Sahukar here, said: "I think it's
a fun romantic film and it's also based on a classic love story 'Emma'. Everybody
loves love stories." Cyrus Sahukar, one of the actors of the film, said all the
cast and crew of the film are very young and that reflects in the film as well.
"It's exciting to be a part of 'Aisha' because the whole crew is very young. It's
a film which has been adapted from the movie called 'Emma' and I am excited about
it," said Sahukar. Lisa Hayden, who makes her Bollywood debut with 'Aisha', appeared
excited about the movie. "I think it is going to be a really fantastic film. I
think a lot of young people in India are going to love and enjoy it," said Hayden.
Directed by Rajshri Ojha and produced by Rhea Kapoor, the film has Abhay Deol
and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. The movie is an adaptation of the British novel
'Emma' written by Jane Austen.
Promoting the film in Kolkata later, Sonam Kapoor said her role in the film is a growth of a character. "Aisha is one such girl, who has not grown yet. She has not come out of her age yet. So, there is a growth in the character. So, this girl has got a generosity of
spirit as well. The movie 'Aisha' is about her growth, her friends and her life."
She also praised her sister Rhea Kapoor, who turns a debutant producer, for her capabilities, and mentioned that Rhea was the youngest on the sets, but had the leadership qualities to keep the work going. Rhea Kapoor said the character of Aisha is
very similar to Sonam. "The character is very similar in a way that she does everything
with a sort of innocence, but she is also like a little devil. You know, she is
very mischievous and Sonam has that qualities," said Rhea Kapoor. "She will do
the most ridiculous things, but she will be smiling, 'I didn't know, I didn't
do that', you know, and we are like 'Of course you do'," she added. Actors Cyrus
Sahukar and Arunoday Singh, who are playing supporting roles, were also present
at the promotional event of the film.
