Bruce Willis escapes injury after escalator malfunction
New York: Hollywood star Bruce Willis barely escaped injury when the escalator he was riding on suddenly sped out of control. Willis and his publicist Paul Bloch were at MoMA for Sunday night's Cinema Society screening of 'Red when, according to a source, the escalator sped and a scared woman happened to jump on Willis. "The escalator taking guests down to the theater accelerated to near-carnival-ride speed. Women started screaming and one did a high-flying jump off, nearly landing on Bruce," the New York Post quoted the source as saying. The 'Sixth Sense' star immediately checked that the woman was OK and appeared puzzled when the escalator then abruptly stopped. "We had to jump, it was going so fast," said Bloch. Willis was joined at the screening and the OC Concept-sponsored after-party at The Lambs Club by co-stars Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and Ernest Borgnine, 93, who said Hollywood shouldn't be so obsessed with youth. "You don't need a young cast to make a great movie," said Borgnine.
