26/11 Case: NIA secures Interpol Red Corner notice against 2 Pak army majors
New Delhi:The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has secured an Interpol Red Corner Notice against two serving Pakistani Army majors and three others for their alleged role in the November 2008 Mumbai terror strike that claimed 166 lives. Interpol issued the Red Corner Notice after securing a non-bailable warrant from an Additional Sessions Judge here. Red Corner Notices were issued against Major Sameer Ali, Major Iqbal, Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Illyas Kashmiri, Sajid Majid and Syed Abdur Rehman Hashim. The warrant was issued on the basis of disclosures made by incarcerated David Headley, who was extensively questioned by the NIA officials in June this year. Headley is said to have carried out a recce for identifying targets in Mumbai for the Lashkar to strike. He is currently lodged in a Chicago jail. A Red Corner notice has already been issued against Lashkar founder Hafeez Sayeed and his close aide Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
