BJP women activists clash with Jammu police
Jammu: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) women protestors clashed with the Jammu Police on Saturday during a three-hour-long demonstration against the surrender policy passed by the provincial cabinet recently. The Act allows the youth who had crossed into the Pakistan-Occupied - Kashmir (PoK) between 1989 and 2009 for arms training to return. Several protestors got injured in the clash as they attempted to stop the vehicular traffic. Public and private transport was off the roads and shops and business establishments remained closed, hitting normal life during morning hours. The provision is expected to put an end to illegal entry of such persons through Nepal , Bangladesh or from Punjab 's Wagah border. As per the guidelines, parents of the youths who traversed the border can approach the Superintendent of Police of their district, certifying that their child wanted to return and be integrated into the mainstream. The person would then be put up in a camp where he would be imparted vocational training to earn his livelihood.
