SpiceJet offers one lakh free tickets in lucky draw
New Delhi: SpiceJet is offering a fly-for-free scheme. One lakh free tickets are up for grabs. To be eligible for entry in the lottery to select the one lakh winners, one needs to have flown once between February 10 and 28 by the carrier on a domestic route. Round-trip passengers are eligible for two entries and stand the chance to win two free tickets. In short, a paid flight between February 10 and 28 can win a free ticket to fly later.

The lucky draw results will be announced on March 7, 2014.

The free ticket won under the scheme can only be redeemed for travel between July 1, 2014 and September 30, 2014 (both days inclusive) and only on routes within India having direct connection.

Besides, a passenger who has won the lottery, could use the free ticket himself or gift it to someone.

How to check the results

Log onto www.spicejet.com/sharelove.aspx. Enter the PNR/Reservation number along with other details on the flight boarding pass such as Sequence number, Seat number, Flight number, First name and Last name to check if one has won the lucky draw. A lucky winner must then register for SpiceConnect to be able to redeem the free ticket.

How to redeem the prize

Call the SpiceJet Sales and Reservation centre (0987 180 3333; 0965 400 3333). Quote the PNR and boarding pass details. Authenticate oneself. The free ticket booking must be made at least 60 days prior to the requested date of travel. The free ticket will be issued on the spot and the party will receive a confirmation SMS and E-mail from SpiceJet.

The terms and conditions

The scheme will be applicable only on bookings made on domestic routes between February 10, 2014 and February 28, 2014 (both days inclusive) for travel up to February 28, 2014. The free ticket won under the scheme shall only have the base fare and the fuel surcharge 100% waived off. All applicable fees and taxes etc. are to be paid by the customer. The winners' selection procedure of the scheme will be administered by an independent auditor. The free tickets won under the scheme can be redeemed by the winner for anyone he/she nominates. In case of a connecting flight passenger, only the first leg of the journey will be eligible for the draw. To redeem the free ticket won under the scheme, the booking shall be made at least 60 days in advance from the travel date. The free ticket won under the scheme can only be redeemed for travel between 1st July 2014 to 30th September 2014 (both days inclusive) and only on routes within India having direct connection. Redemption can only be made by calling at SpiceJet’s Sales and Reservation Centre. The scheme is not valid for bookings made for infants and/or groups. The scheme is valid on bookings made via reservation centres, travel portals and travel agents, according to a SpiceJet press release.

Under tough competition, SpiceJet had taken the lead in the ongoing fare war this lean season. The low cost carriers had fought to step up sales through discount in two rounds earlier amounting to 50% cut. SpiceJet does a business of about 40,000 tickets a day. The new scheme is intended to go beyond the current low period, and is planned to checkmate any deep foray by the new AirAsia India, entering the battle in the coming months.
