NEW DELHI: Now train passengers can make complaints even while travelling on the train through mobile SMS. The Indian Railways has introduced a system where one can send a complaint from a running train in the form of SMS which will be acknowledged.
One has to provide the train No, bogie No, and the nature of complaint. The complaint can be anything from no-water, no-lights, fans not working, to
security issues. The SMS can be sent to Railways' No 8121281212.
This is expected to have a major impact on improving passenger amenities and their safety.
This is also expected to help the railways prioritise its operations and also facilitate greater participation of customers in the railway services.
When the complaint or suggestion is registered at 8121281212 by sending an SMS, an automated acknowledgement with a unique ID will be received by the
complainant.
The passenger can know the status of the complaint by sending SMS with the ID to:- “STATUS < SPACE > < REFERENCE ID>” to 8121281212 or by logging on to
the website scr.indianrailways.gov.in/
The reply on action taken will be sent through an SMS. It will also be available on the website: www.scr.indianrailways.gov.in/
