Helpline numbers for Indians on Saudi Haj stampede
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of External Affairs has announced emergency helpline numbers for Indian nationals following the Haj stempede near Mecca (Makkah) on Thursday in which over 700 of the several lakhs of pilgrims gathered there from all over the world died.

The Helpline numbers are: 00966125458000 and 00966125496000 . The toll free number for pilgrims within Saudi Arabia is 8002477786.

The Haj Committee of India has also set up Helplines: 022-22717100; 022-22717101; 022-22717102.

The Indian mission in Jeddah is monitoring the situation following the stampede. Some Indians are also among the dead and injured.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said the Government would provide all help to Indian nationals affected by the stampede. Two Indian officials have aready reached the site of the disaster, she said.

Two weeks ago a crane had fallen on the Grand Mosque at Mecca (Makkah) killing over 100 and injuring more than 200 people.
