SHIMLA: One more body of a jawan trapped under avalanche near the Tibetan border
in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh on February 20 has been recovered by
rescuers. Two had been located earlier. A total of six jawans were missing.
Search is on for the remaining three.
The third body has been identified as of Govind Bahadur Chhetri of Bengal.
Officials said 500 personnel have been deployed for search operations. Snowfall
is hampering rescue ops. Fresh snow is accumulating at the avalanche site.
Two Army and groups and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were patrolling
Namgia Dogri when mishap occurred. Western Command Chief of Staff Lt Gen PM
Bali has since visited the site of avalanche.
