New Delhi: Australian Army chief, Lieutenant-General, KJ Gillespie, on Monday received a guard of honour at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremony, held early in
the day, was accompanied by light showers. Indian Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor
was present during the ceremony. Lieutenant-General KJ Gillespie is on a short
Indian visit. His visit comes close on the heels of Victoria Premier John Brumby's
visit to India. Brumby was in the country on a damage control and public relations
exercise after a series of incidents of racial attacks on Indian students in Australia.
