Chinese ambassador to India meets Rajnath, seeks cordial relations between China and India
New Delhi: Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan called on BJP President Rajnath Singh on Friday and expressed China's intentions of having a cordial relation between the two countries. Zhang and Singh reportedly had a detailed discussion over the border issue, after which Zhang said that it was a sensitive matter and there was a need for bilateral talks to take effect. Earlier, Zhang had met officials of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday afternoon shortly after his Government expressed 'strong' dissatisfaction over Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian Government has all along indicated that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and that the people of that state have a democratic right to elect a Government of their choice. However, Beijing lays claim to 90,000 sq km of land in the border state, that it sees as 'southern' Tibet.
