Party workers celebrate Congress victory in Assembly elections
New Delhi: As the Congress party registered remarkable victory in the Maharashtra
, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh State Assembly elections, upbeat party supporters
danced and celebrated the occasion at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday. Supporters gathered outside the Congress party office (24, Akbar Road , New Delhi ), danced, cheered and raised slogans for the long life
of Rahul Gandhi. The party supporters started celebrations even just after watching
the initial trends in assembly elections of the three states suggesting that the Congress
was heading for a three nil sweep with or without its allies against the opposition
Bharatiya Janata Party and other political rivals. Elections were held last week
(October 13) in Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh states and a hard-fought
contest was witnessed, particularly in Maharashtra.
