After South Waziristan, Army may target North Waziristan too: Pak Defence Minister
Lahore:Pakistan Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar has said that once it flushes out the extremists from South Waziristan, the military may launch an offensive in North Waziristan too. Speaking on a private television channel during a programme, Mukhtar said the troops have advanced deep into the Taliban's stronghold during the Operation Rah-e-Nijat and that they would soon declare victory in the troubled tribal region. Responding to a query regarding India 's alleged involvement in terror activities inside Pakistan , he claimed that New Delhi 's hand in the Waziristan resistance has been proved. Muskhtar also supported Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani's reservations over the controversial Kerry-Lugar bill, saying his objections were justified. "Americans should have used soft language in the bill," The Daily Times quoted Mukhtar, as saying.
