New Delhi:A group of schoolchildren visiting the Parliament House
on Tuesday had a pleasant surprise, as Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi opted to spend some moments with them by personal interaction. Rahul interacted
with students of Punjab's Heritage Public School, as the little visitors arrived
in the Parliament House. Evincing much interest, the students went around the
Parliament House and met Rahul Gandhi in the circular corridors of the historical
building. Rahul encouraged them to take active part in public life and even join
politics with service as motto. On their part, the students were thrilled to meet
Rahul Gandhi and having posed for group photograph with him. "We came here to
see the Parliament House. After that Rahul Gandhi arrived and came to us. He got
some photographs clicked with us. He told us that, if we would like to join politics
then we are most welcome," said Anmol, a student of Heritage Public School. Deepa
Singla, wife of Congress MP from Sangrur, Vijay Inder Singla, had arranged the
visit for these students. She said that the students were feeling much encouraged
after meeting Rahul Gandhi and evinced interest in politics. "He just asked the
children 'how do you like parliament?' They were very excited and he asked the
children, 'are you all interested in joining politics and do you want to be a
politician? The children said that if they are given a chance, they will surely
join politics," Deepa Singla said.
