Political crisis in Andhra Pradesh as 92 MLAs resign over decision for Telangana state
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh state is faced with a big political turmoil, as 92 legislators have resigned from the States Assembly in protest against the Central Government reportedly giving go ahead for the formation of a separate Telangana state on Wednesday. The legislators who resigned include 39 MLAs of the ruling Congress party,
38 of the opposition Telugu Desam Party and 15 of the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP). They
have sent their resignations to Andhra Pradesh State assembly Speaker. Bes ides,
at least 36 members of the legislative council belonging to the Congress party
and TDP have also resigned.
