President celebrates 75th birthday with differently abled kids
New Delhi:President Pratibha Devisingh Patil celebrated her 75th birthday with differently abled children at a function in the national capital on Saturday. On this special occasion, children presented a colourful programme in her honour. It was organised by a voluntary organization Tammana Association. Around 51 orphans from Maoist affected Chhattisgarh also converged at he President's residence to wish her. President Patil also cut a cake in the presence of children with special needs. President said that she was deeply touched by the surprise show put up by 'Tammana'. "I always, on every birthday, try to visit the institutions who are doing work in the social welfare field, in that spirit, I accepted to visit Tammana today and that was what I thought, I will be meeting students and workers. But to my surprise, the students put up a very wonderful show, unimaginable. And my birthday was celebrated today in a unique way. I am deeply touched," said President Patil. On this occasion, President Patil emphasized on the need to sensitize the society to make it more inclusive.
