Missing MP L Rajagopal reappears at Hyderabad hospital
Hyderabad: Vijayawada MP L Rajagopal who is on fast over his demand for a united Andhra Pradesh reappeared at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here this afternoon.
Rajgopal dramatically disappeared breaking through the high security in his ward
at Vijayawada Government Hospital on Sunday evening. The MP, whose fast entered
the sixth day on Sunday, came to the ground floor of the hospital from his first
floor ward, boarded a Qualis vehicle and drove out at about 10.45 p.m. Rajagopal
was expected to be shifted to a corporate hospital at Mangalagiri, 15 kilometres
from Vijayawada, and seemed to have taken advantage of the prevailing uncertainty.
On Thursday, he was shifted to the government hospital after the Andhra Pradesh
Government refused to shift him to NIMS fearing disturbance. Additional security
forces have been rushed to various districts, as the condition of elected representatives
who are on a fast-unto-death for a united Andhra Pradesh is turning critical.
The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has asked the government to consider
shifting MLC Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, and MLA D. Umamaheswara Rao to NIMS.
