Tourists celebrate Christmas in Dharamshala, Manali
Dharamshala/ Manali: People from Himachal Pradesh's Dharamshala and Manali towns - including international and domestic tourists, exiled Tibetans and locals - celebrated Christmas with great fervour and gaiety on Friday. "I was just curious about how Christmas is celebrated in Dharamshala. That's why I came here and the wonderful thing about this church, and the celebrations which are going over here is that people from many different cultures, and from many different nations come here, and celebrate Christmas here. It is quite a new experience for me," said Tsering, a Tibetan. Meanwhile, the tourism department of the northern hill resort Manali organised a cultural programme for tourists on Christmas Eve. "I have come for the first time to Manali. And I think this is really beautiful culture of Himachal Pradesh. And the folk dance, which we have seen and enjoyed, is really beautiful. It conveys a deep culture," said Mohit, a tourist from New Delhi . People from all over India congregated in Manali town to enjoy the festive season, which is set to continue till New Year.
