Real Madrid to make 20 million pound bid for Vidic
London:Spanish football club Real Madrid is poised to make a 20-million-pound end-of-season bid for Manchester United central defender Nemanja Vidic. The Serbian
star is the principal target of Real president Florentino Perez to bolster the
Spanish giants' defence, reports The Sun. Perez has a reputation for getting the
players he wants and will not worry about upsetting Sir Alex Ferguson again. Real
hope the lure of playing at the Bernabeu, which proved irresistible to Cristiano
Ronaldo, will give them a huge advantage as they try to negotiate a deal. Vidic,
28, has been a mainstay of United's defence since arriving from Spartak Moscow
for seven million pounds three years ago.
