One dead, NH 47 blocked as gas tanker catches fire after accident
Thiruvananthapuram: The National Highway 47 in Kerala has been blocked following a major road accident that took place at 5 am on Thursday morning when a gas tanker collided with a car leaving one dead and 16 people seriously injured. According to reports, 11 fire engines were trying hard to extinguish the fire that arose from the gas tanker after the accident. Of the sixteen injured, four are police constables, who attempted to intervene soon after the accident. A police jeep was also burnt after the gas tanker burst into flames after the accident. National Highway 47 is a principal highway that connects Trivandrum to the rest of north Kerala and Bangalore.
