Jyoti Basu's condition stable, has pneumonia
Kolkata: CPM leader and former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu's health condition is reported to be stable. Basu is being treated for pneumonia at a private hospital in Kolkata. "Basu's condition is more or less stable and doctors are trying to check his pneumonic infection," said physician AK Maity. It would take some time for him to recover, he added. The 95-year old veteran leader was admitted to Apollo Gleneagles hospital here on Friday following a severe chest infection. The doctors after conducting a proper check-up had detected that Basu was suffering from slight pneumonia. Earlier in July, Basu was admitted to the hospital complaining of discomfort in the abdomen and a disturbed sleep.
