Rahul Gandhi in Mumbai, stops at ATM, travels by local train
Mumbai: Amidst violence and protests by Shiv Sena activists over his Mumbai visit, a calm and composed Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi stopped at an ATM in Santa Cruz and travelled by local train. Gandhi was supposed to take a helicopter from his first stop at Bhaidas Hall in Ville Parle area to a Dalit slum in Ghatkopar, but he put security personnel on their toes by stopping at an ATM here. The Gandhi scion later boarded a local train to Ghatkopar. Gandhi appears determined to prove that he is not worried about the Shiv Sena's words of caution. All senior Maharashtra police officers coordinated Rahul Gandhi's security arrangements. Several measures were adopted to ensure the programme passed off peacefully. Earlier, over 40 Shiv Sena activists were detained in different parts of Mumbai for protesting against Gandhi's visit.
